Kubota RTV 1100c, JD 740,Kioti DK 40 with KL401 loader .
This is a quote from orange tractor talks website.(For those running RTV,s there has been a increase in the torque specs for the nut on the rear axle.We have had some spline failures here so this is likely important !Remove the plastic hub cover in the center of the rear wheels, remove the cotter pin and torque the nut 140 lbs(both sides)Kubota also has a new drive shaft available for the front drive (transfer case to front diff)It is reasonably priced and a vast improvement over the original)End quote. This happened to my 2006 Kubota RTV 900 this past week with 610 hours on the clock. It is in the shop as we speak. The repair bill set me back $932.Just a heads up you might want to retorque your rear axle nuts to 140lbs per side as stated.Hopefully doing this will save you a few $$ in a repair bill such as mine.

Yup, my rtv 900 suffered the rear axel problem, at about 600hrs. Cost me right around $600 to fix. A little late for my first time, but I will go chech torque on rear today. Rtv has just adout 1000 hours on it. Thanks for the info.

Your title indicates it's just on the 900/1100, but what you quoted doesn't have that. Do you know if the notice is really just for those two?

You have a link or something? I searched the site and didn't find anything. Suppose I could call the local dealer.

...I just bought a used RTV900...

Thanks for the info.

I know, I read it. :)

Please, no offense to anyone, but I personally like to verify this kind of information. In the information age, "I read it on the internet so it must be true" may be a cynical adage, but it's not an unhealthy position to take, IMHO.

At any rate & FWIW (and hopefully no one will be offended), I contacted Kubota online and received a snapshot pic that indicates the torque specs are "55.3 to 66.4" ftlb. Apparently the online Kubota folks did not get the memo.

I could be wrong but I believe coobie was referring to a cotter pinned axle retaining nut, not a wheel screw (whatever that is)--I believe your info relates to the wheel lugs.
