Kubota L3130 HST, LA723 loader w/ QuickAttach
I have the L3130 with the quick attach coupler - well I broke the tips off of the pins fasteners or anchors. The dealer is having a hard time figuring out what I am talking about (time to find a new dealer)

What exactly are these pins called, anyone got a part number? How much should these buggers cost?

Thanks

Felt compelled to reply as a fellow Valk rider. I bought parts manual for my tractor (2410) and I assume that similar book is available for implements/loaders. You might try this site

http://www.tractorsmart.com/mall/lobby.asp

If no luck, ask dealer if your can look at his parts list for your loader - these books are quite staight forward. Chances are you will be able to locate the part within 5-10 minutes.

Good luck.

Do you have the skid steer quick attach on your loader? Are you looking for the spring loaded pins that contact the bottom of the bucket attach? Do you have the LA513 or the LA723 loader?

Yup, it is the kubota quick attach LA2270 - or something like that. I have the 723 loader and it the pins that connect the bucket to the quick attach. Dealer finally figured out what I was talking about - he faxed me a schematic and we verified the part. He said he had to order /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif them from - get this - New Holland! - He didn't have a price so it will be interesting to find out what those little chunks of steel are going cost me.

Got to love Kubota/ATI parts - Local Stealer 20 minutes down the road called me back and said the the locking pin fasteners had come in and those little chunks of steel are going to cost me >>>>> drum roll please>>> 45.67 $ for a pair. I asked him if he got the golden ones - not even a chuckle - he probably get these smart a$$ comments all the time <well deserved tho>

They came from New Holland Pennsylvania (not New Holland tractor) I guess ATI makes the quick attach for Kubota.

My Dad broke off an inch of the tip by tipping the bucket on tooth edge and back dragging - he hit a rock and it popped off. I broke 3/4 inch off the other when I was stacking rocks for a retaining wall and the pallet forks got wedged between two rocks. I guess they dont break often - the stealer said he never heard of one breaking in his 12 years - but I use things HARD /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif - not abusive but just Hard.

That is simply beyond belief.

If the existing pins are functional except for the tapered
tips being missing, I think you have a fairly easy (and
inexpensive) stick weld repair candidate.

It is possible to build up the form of the tips with a
mild steel electrode and hardface only the tapered wear
surface. You may just find yourself with a more durable
pin compared to the original parts.

Kubota has a good deal going, for them, not you. I had a local machine shop make me up extras then I welded the bar on the top. It was no where near that much money.

You said it.

Some will insist it has to cost that much because of
supply and demand and the cost of maintaining active
inventory, etc.. All of which is quite reasonable and
understandable in the context of managing a business.

But as a consumer with a choice you don't have to feed
the racket. The more outrageous prices become the
more attractive cost effective alternatives become.
