I am by no means experienced, but from a "generalist's perpective," why not "worst case it" and get an estimate, from a dealer, for an FEL, NEW, installed. Not sure the subframe comes with the loader, so double-check that.

Then take that figure, and add it to whatever similar units on Used Tractors For Sale at TractorHouse.com: John Deere Tractors, used farm tractors and farm equipment, tractors for sale, Case IH, New Holland, Agco, Kubota are going for it, or possibly a Official Kelley Blue Book Values You Can Trust From Kbb.com, The Trusted Resource - Kelley Blue Book--type site, for tractors, might list.

If you luck out and find a used loader, so much the better. I'm just saying negotiate from a worst-case scenario, to leave yourself the most room.

Just my .02--I'm sure knowledgable owners of similar machines will be able to give you same real numbers.

Good luck,

My Hoe

A friend of mine has a one man hay operation much like the one you are talking about. He tried various solutions, and ended up with just the tractor you are talking about too, and he has had very good luck with it for his operation. Because he has no help, he did eventually go to round bales for handling, and has found the M9540 with the loader, and bale spear to work well. He said he has to keep an eye on the cab air filters in the dusty haying season, but that has been his only issue in a few years of use.

I can't improve on the advice given so far and can only say that we really like our M8540 HDC 12F/12R which is the same tractor as the 9540. We don't do hay though.

for a general price, u can go to the K site & build your own, then add the fel....think it's around 6K. am sure there are comparable quality&price ones out there, but it would be a start. don't forget the 2nd or even 3rd remotes. good luck, lots of 9540 hay machines out there in use. the current M series models are now long proven in the field good luck

for that tractor you looking at $35,000 to $45,000.now as for the loader,id personally put a kubota loader on it,as they are made for them.

I would stick with an OEM loader, There really is never a huge significant savings unless you go with a Chinese loader like Ansung, then you get what you pay for.

The kubota m9540 is a great machine and it is easy to get service and parts for. I work at a dealership and service provider and see the great help provided to kubota owners. We have a large selection of used implements at great prices including buckets and loaders. Ansung is an option for a cheaper loader system other than OEM. They work great and attatch with simmilar pins as the OEM.

I generally look to tractorhouse.com when I am at an auction to get a general idea of what a tractor is worth. I think the prices listed are on the high side although when I bought my mini-excavator I used their sister site, machinerytrader.com, to search and ended up paying the listed price.

There is an M9000 w/loader 1500hrs for sale near me. The asking price is $33,000 and it has been on the market for at least a year.
