Kubota L2800 4WD FEL
I was quoted a price today of $14,563 for a new Kubota L2800, FEL, AG tires and Manual trannie, preped and delivered. This sounds like a pretty fair\good price what do you guys think?

I was a little shocked and disappointed in the current terms from Kubota. Any better ideas or do other dealers possibly offer better terms?

This option gets me the $14,563 price
24 @ 7.25%
60 @ 7.50%

This option gives me lower interest but I loose the $600 special financing so the price goes to 15,163.
24 @ 0%
36 @ 3.99%

What stinks is the NH TC30 is
$15000
36 @ 0%
48 @ 1.99%

I prefer the Kubota tractor and think you get more for your money over the TC30 but durn the interest rate stinks. Any options or does this sound right?

Thanks
Wade

WADE: They are both good tractors. I have a 2004 Kubota L2800 4WD with a LA463 loader also, with the manual trans.(semi-shuttle shift), with the High-Low-Rev. lever. I looked at both. The advantage of the New Holland, would be the financing options, which would let you purchase more implements over the duration of the loan on interest savings alone? However, I would purchase on self satisfaction; because it maybe a long term investment for you. I think the Kubota is a quality tractor, and the engines are extremely smooth, but check on the quarter-inching valve for the three point, which created a riff, early in it's production!? Kubota would change it out for free, if you complained! Yours should have an infinite position one? If you plan on doing mostly loader work; the Kubota maybe a little faster with the semi-shuttle, using one lever for forward and reverse? If not, I would consider the NH TC-30, if you plan on using a box scraper, or other ground engaging implements?

Wade,

Kubota really did away with true 0% financing last December unless you have really deep pockets and payoff in one year. If you want more time, Kubota charges you for it, either in interest or higher purchase prices. Find an amortization table and see what stories the numbers tell.

1. $14,563 at 0% for 12 months is $1213.58 a month. Two years is half or 606.79.

2. $14,563 at 7.25% for 24 months? That’s $653.67 a month and $1125 interest. Yuck!

3. $14,563 at 7.50% for 60 months? Only $291.81 a month but $2945 interest. But honey, it’s only …

4. $15,163 at 0% for 24 months is $631.79 a month. That 600 price increase (sorry, less rebate) is the same as charging 3.9% on the lower $14,563 price – but 0% sounds so much nicer than 3.9%.

5. $15,163 at 3.99% for 36 months is $447.60 a month with $950 interest.

How much extra do you want to pay for that $14,563 L2800, $600 or up to $2900 more? Take more than a year and you will pay more.

NH doesn’t stink. 15,000 at 0% for 36 months is $416.67, nice of them to do it over three years. Four years at 1.99% is $325 a month with $617 in interest. We keep bumping into that extra $600.

So, for $15,000 which tractor do you like best? If Kubota then put $3K down and pay 500 for 24 months. Watch out though, the NH 0% ends February 28th. They may copy Kubota and make you subsidize any continued 0%.

For me? I will probably throw another $1K into the pot and go for an L3400 – but will check the comparable NH tractors.

I bought that exact setup (the L2800) in Septemer. Does your price include taxes? In NW Ohio, I paid almost exactly $15K including sales tax, but I was lucky enough to get 0%/36 months.

Without a doubt the financing sealed the deal. I can't believe they dropped it, but the cost of money has been going up and up. Quick math told me that the 0% saved me about $1,500.

I can't speak for the Blue, but you won't be disappointed with the Orange.

Why not go with the 4.99% for 48 months and do your best to pay
it off early!
Good luck!

Wade something is wrong at your dealer then. I just purchased a new B3030 two weeks ago, financed it with KCC in my company name with $0 down, for that same term of 36 months at 3.99% and still received the full rebate.

I know you probably have seen it but Below is the current KCC Finance Plans valid through 3/31/07 and I don't see the rate of 24 @ 7.25% and 60 @ 7.50% that he quoted you anywhere, unless maybe he was going to do it as a Revolving Credit Card instead of a KCC Installment Plan. But I am new to Kubota so I could be wrong...LOL, but the rates listed below from KCC is the same my dealer went over with me as soon as I started looking at his tractors.

Kubota has set the finance options so that you get to keep the rebate at the 7.25% rate but lose half of it at the 'low rate' financing. In the case of the B3030, you only lose $250 of the $500 rebate at the 3.99% rate so some dealers may just absorb that and not even mention it. However, when you get up to the L-30 series where the cash rebate is $1500, 'low rate' (where you lose half of the rebate) or 0% for 36 month (where you lose all of the rebate) financing really can make a difference in the price. Standard rate financing (at that 7.25%-7.75% rate) makes sense when you are going to finance for 72-84 months and are going to be paying 6.99-7.49% anyway...then you get to keep your rebate and will still be paying close to the same rate. Hope this makes sense. It took me a full day when the programs first came out to figure out what was what.

Rick - paying off early will save money but probably not as much as a lower rate on a shorter loan.

MMM - most dealers are following Kubota's guidelines of 0% and no rebate. You may have found a dealer who really needed to make the sale or who may have started off a bit higher.

FWIW, Brady will work very hard to earn your business.

Thanks guys. I went out to the Kubota site again and found all the info and it looks like the L2800\L3400\L4400 series tractors which I am looking at will only qualify for $300 off on special financing and $600 off on regular. They will qualify for 0% for 24 months but I lose the rebate and I cannot afford that payment.

Brady, If I were closer I would come talk to you but I am in SC. Does $14,863 sound like a good price to you on an L28oo, FEL,AG tires, manual trannie?

Thanks again guys.

Wade
