Is the price listed on kubota’s accurate to what is seen in real life? I’m looking at a BX2380 and online today it is $12,104. I received a quote from a local dealer and their “sticker” price, for the tractor only, is $12,766. Does that include assembly or something else. I would ask them but I didn’t notice till they were closed and do no open again till Monday. Didn’t know if the online price was regional or didn’t include final assembly or ........
thanks

The dealer you went to was high! MSRP for a tractor is usually above what you'll get from a dealer. it might be worth it to contact Messicks and get a quote from them if your local dealer is going to be that way. You can usually expect a dealer to charge 10% less than MSRP that's found on the site.

Even if the dealer is figuring in the new price increase and the website hasn't been updated, he's still over MSRP.

A year ago, my local dealer was between 11 - 12% lower than what Kubota's "build your tractor" MSRP was on their web-site. Tractor, F.E.L with H.D. bucket, and BH92 backhoe combined.

The dealer price was much lower, I was just giving their starting point. They were about 14% below their starting point. What I’m wondering is should their “sticker price” starting point match the online kubota price?

It doesn't have to, I don't think. My understanding of how it works is the OEM(Kubota) has a fixed price that they're paid by the dealer for the machine. Whatever the dealer wants to add on above that is their choice.

Is it smart for them to go above publicly available MSRP? No, not in my opinion. But there's no rule that says they can't go above to show an aggressive discount.

They're really giving you a 9.3% discount, if my math holds out.

...Was tax figured separately or are you exempt? The difference here seems really close to the 6% PA sales tax. i wonder if they rolled it into the price.

Last fall I paid about 18% off compared to Kubota website price for my L2501 HST. That was before tax. Never discussed sticker price with my dealer, he gave me a full detailed quote and I just looked at the final number.

I thought I got a fair deal and was satisfied. I think you got an excellent deal!

The dealer price should be lower than the build your price online. I find that to be true for cars too. Like ratitude, I never discussed sticker price, just my quote, and we went from there.

Yes, if the specs are the same. There are lots of little variations in the pricing, including tire type and other options. As long as you are sure it's apples to apples I'd expect the prices to line up. May also want to inquire if the dealer is putting extras into the deal. I don't think it's common with tractors, but I know some dealers attempt to make a little more profit by putting in some extras (usually stuff that doesn't cost them much but adds to profit).

Thanks everyone. I’m going to talk to the dealer today and ask. Hopefully a new BX will be in the barn soon.
