This past week I finished up a seeding project in south Tx when I lost power steering and the pto won’t work as well on my M5-111 (may or may not be related). Gears shift smoothly, front loader and three point work great so I’m “guessing” the power steering and pto have a separate hydraulic pump? I’m having a hard time finding info. on any search engines and any experience and suggestions are appreciated before I take it into the tractor hospital.

Have you checked hyd oil level lately? How many hrs of use since hyd filters were changed? I suggest acquiring a WSM(tech manual) for your tractor? It appears from viewing M5-111 parts catalog that the pto control valve has electrical connections. Have you checked for a blown fuse?

I experienced a 95% loss of PTO. It would barely turn, if at all. Took seat out and replaced solenoid. Did not help. There’s also a valve inside the rear case that can go bad.
Mine was an M-126X. The steering was never fully correct IMO, but dealer said steering was normal. Replaced hand pump for steering and checked pressures. All seemed normal, but steering was moderately difficult at idle.

I changed hydraulic filters and oil 80 hours ago but I will check filters asap and check for blown fuse..thks!
Ok..power steering is “iffy” and is not working as normal. I used yesterday and it worked for awhile but faded and basically had no power steering the last hour. Used it today and worked but but still not normal and hard to steer?

No clue on your tractor but many have a separate hydraulic pump for steering and pto operation and transmission lubrication.
Tractor data shows a 5.4 or 6.1 gpm flow rate for steering.
