I just bought a 2000 Kubota M4900 with LA1002 FEL with a pinned on bucket. I would like to upgrade to a Skid Steer Quick Attach Loader Coupler and have been reading threads for info. I believe the LA1002 loader was available with a Kubota quick attach coupler at some time during production of the 1002 and have read a thread that advised the M1802 coupler fit the 1002.

I know W.R. Long and others make a universal SSQA coupler. I would like to stick with a Kubota coupler. Can any of you guys confirm that the M1802 coupler will work on the pin on 1002 FEL?

I have been talking to a local dealer and he is telling me it will be difficult to mount the adapter plate to the bucket. Ted at Everything Attachments has a video that shows mounting the adapter to the bucket is easy peasy. Not sure why my dealer is hung up on the bucket adapter issue when I just want the price and availability on the M1802 coupler.

All comments are welcome.

Well I saw your other thread. For YOUR dealer it might be difficult to adapt the bucket. But read the threads here, lot's of guys do it.

Hey Newberry, thanks for info.
What I meant to say was that the dealer whole goods salesman continuously diverted to the illusion of the difficulty of adapting the bucket when I was asking about availability of the Kubota QA for my LA1002-5R1 FEL.

Do any of you guys have a 1002 FEL with Kubota QA; did Kubota offer the 1002 with the QA option?

My M6800 had a choice of an 1002 loader or an 1162 loader. The paperwork I have shows only a skid steer hookup and no other choice for that tractor. So while I do not physically have a 1002 loader, maybe I can take you one step closer with that info. I think I have seen that loader both ways and I have a good memory so I believe SSQA was an early option and later standard but that is my 99% guess. Find an L1002 owner's manual.

By the way, for my 5520 Deere with a QT bucket, I had a shop make a skid steer adapter for me for around $750. I did thread on it. Maybe you could think about getting a simple pin on adapter for a skid steer made so you could easily swap back to your regular bucket?

Perhaps the problem is with your bucket. Is there anything "special" about it?
Examples:
You can get a BRAND NEW 72" SSQA bucket from Tomahawk for about $400 plus shipping.
You can get the "adapter for SSQA" for about $75 plus shipping, then (from what I've read) maybe an hour or so of cutting and pasting, by someone with the right tools and knowledge.
