Kubota LA853 Zerk Sizes

Hello,

Have a couple of zerks on the lower pivots of my loader that won't take grease. I took them off and cleaned them up with solvent and I think it is time to replace them.

Does anybody know what size I would need for the threads? I bought a variety pack from TSC and none of them work. Would like to order a few dozen to have them as needed.

I got an assortment of both metric and SAE from Amazon. I am never sure which to use until I pull the old one out and compare them

A guess is 8mm x 1.25. But the variety used is completely absurd. I must have 50 different size Zerks that do not work!

Before you replace the Zerks, try hooking them up to your grease gun while they are out. If the grease goes through them then they should be fine. Failure is usually the little spring that keep the ball stop in place.

Although I seem to be getting thread sizes wrong this weekend,the loader being USA built would use fractional sizes.
The smaller ones should be 1/4 x 28 fine thread,which is really close to the metric M6 x 1.0 thread.
I replaced one on my LA403 with one.
If you have a larger fitting,it most likely would be 1/8 NPT.

It might be, but I don't think that is a reliable conclusion. Some stuff built in the US has metric. It's a shame that Kubota has such a mix and match on one piece of equipment

No help here, but I wanted to relay my experience with the same problem. I bought a full assortment box of metric and SAE zerks... just to be sure. Ha! None of them fit! I finally took my defective zerk by the Kubota dealer and bought a couple. THEY know what size it is, but they sure weren't inclined to tell me. Well - at 10-fold markup, I can understand why

I've replaced a few using my chinese metric and sae assortment, no problems. You can soak the old ones in solvent for a while and clean them up. Mine were broken off.
