I have added a factory rear remote to my L5450. Can anyone tell me which hydraulic fitting it uses? I expected it to be an ISO 7241-1 Series B 1/2" (see photo) like the other factory fittings, but it isn't. Is it this fitting but a 3/8" rather than 1/2".

I also need to buy a cylinder for my snow blower chute. Any suggestions where to buy?

One more question - I find it difficult to open the fitting when connecting. I think I remember from somewhere that Kubota made a tool that made this easier. Does anyone know anything about such a tool?

Thanks.

Pioneer. You need to add dust plugs and use them when they are not in use. You already have crud in them that will wind up in your hydraulic system. I use a brass punch and a small hammer to relieve pressure.

The rear remotes on all seven Kubota tractors I've owned use 3/8" Pioneer (AG) fittings. They are the breakaway style that push to connect and pull to release.

Work the levers with the engine off to relieve the pressure on the tractor side. Tap the ball end of the male connector on a block of wood to relieve any pressure on the implement side.

Thank you. Very useful information. Off to buy ram, hoses and fittings this morning.

You might add 'to point the male connector away from you or you'll get an unwanted bath in fluid.

I don't particularly like the remote arrangement pictured because you have to use Kubota supplied dust plugs (not caps). I much prefer the other more common style where the remotes mount directly to the valves.

For reference, when people say "pioneer" fittings they are usually meaning the ISO 5675 fittings. Those are most common in AG stuff. And 1/2" is usually the standard size.
