Looked at a used L5030, HST, canopy, 60hrs, 2003, La853 loader without quick attachment, no remote hydraulics. The dealer is asking 21,500, does not appear he will budge. I really like this tractor but don't know if I can justify it and if this is a fair price. Tractor does not appeared to used for work, someone must have just been riding around on it. How does the price sound?

For my area it sounds like a good price to me. I bought a new one in Nov. Looks like your getting the loader for free compared to a new one. You can all ways add rear remotes. See if the dealer will throw it in on the deal.

I had the opportunity to buy a L5030 with 100 hours at $2000 off a new one. That would have made it $23600 with QA. Seems yours may be a fair deal? (For that seemingly small difference, I got a new one).

I agree with DDT, The price he is giving you is the price of the tractor alone new (with R4 tires). I have had my 5030 for a bit more than a year and have hardly used it and have 110 hours on it. Just make sure all of the 50 hour service was done on it. At 50 hours all the fluids and filters (excluding air and fuel) should have been replaced and on a 5030 just the filters and fluids alone are about $250. The hundred hour service is next and just the oil is changed then you are good to go till 200 hours. I really like the quick disconnect (skid steer type) on my 5030 and the HD bucket. I doubt if you can get him to throw in remotes, but good luck trying. My two remotes cost over 1K, but well worth it for the top and tilt on the box blade.

If this is the tractor you want you are saving, in my opinion, about 4K and loosing a year of warranty. With 60 hours, the tractor is just barley broken in.

I hope it is a metal canopy, if you have any trees like me. My metal canopy has taken a beating but still looks new. I doubt I could say that if it would have been fiberglass.

Thanks for the info, it is usefull. It seemed like a fair price, nothing to get a hurry about. I was looking at the 5700 when this one came along. I don't mind changing gears. The 5700 with a loader and not HST I believe is about the same price as the 5030. Then you have to consider the 0% interest for three years on the M series which helps out a lot if you are financing.
Thanks again! Keep the opinions coming.

I have 96 hours on mine so far since Nov. If did not have shoulder surgrey the 1st of Dec I am sure the meter would be a lot higher. You must have more time for keeping yours clean, mine is all ways dirty
