I am looking to buy a new L48 before the end of the year and was wondering what sort of pricing people have seen on this model. I am looking to buy it with the regular tires, have them filled with foam for construction purposes, add the pallet forks and get the 24" backhoe bucket.

Like anything else, depends on where you live. I've seen pretty near a ten thousand dollar difference depending on area and options.

I live north of Boston, MA. I find it hard to believe that I could have a $10k variance depending on options and location. The machine is pretty well loaded to begin with; 72" loader, ROPS, lights, quick attach backhoe w/24" bucket and standard tires. What options could I be looking for that aren't included standard?

where ever you are looking, they already have added many options. Those lights, rubber pads on the stabilizers, SSL if there,.. I have the mechanical quick attach hoe bucket system with 12 and 24 buckets, a third valve, 7 1/2 power angle snow plow, the rear lights, block heater, SSL front end...

I am not sure if it was you that PM'd me, but I got a question about the L48 and why I sold mine. I did not have a chance to respond when I got it but later when I tried to, I couldnt get into my "My Home" to see who it was.
The simple answer was that it no longer fit my needs. My large dirt moving job was over. The thing that made it impsssible to do multiple tasks were this. Non removeable loader (which is great if you don't need to remove it) but lousy for mowing and the very slow speed it had in medium. My opinion is that dirt work it worked great in medium but if you needed to move dirt around in the bucket, you end up shifting between medium and high. High had very little strength to go up even a small incline. Medium could climb a house. Personally, if I was going for another TLB, the L39 would be at the top of the list simply because it has the ability to overcome the Low Medium High range gap that the L48 has. I like the JD 110, but my dealer that sells (sold) them is reporting to many issues.

I have been researching the Kubota L48 TLB and the JD 110 for 2 years now. Kubota now presnts the L39 which has me very impressed which means that Kubota will soon make numerous refinements to the L48 which I wonder if it's worth waiting for, or buy the L39 now? Any thoughts here...Also after an exhausting search on this site for info on the JD 110 I can't tell if it recommended by its owners and what prices are fair for a fully loaded one. Well since I'm in the Kubota forum, and since I'm not sure which tractor to go with can anyone give me some real numbers of fair prices for new fully loaded L39's and L48's. Do the monitors take out the prices here? Anyone with input please help???? Kubota is a no money down and 4.9% interest for up to 84 months and JD is 10% down, 8% interest, and a max of 72 months. That difference is substancial ...I don't mind paying for a better unit...but $10,000 plus dollars and higher financing and a shorter period is making this very hard. Thanks,
Brian

It will be interesting to see what Kubota does with the B21 and L48 size machines since they came out with the L-39 to replace the L35.

The L39 is a nice machine. It begs to be about 45 HP. I would like to see the loader have a bit more lift and about 30% more curl capacity to match the weight of the machine w/ BH attached. Other than that, Nice machine Kubota.

The B21 new model could have 26-30 HP for its weight and about 20-25 % more Loader capacity. If size for size it's BH matches the power of the BT-1000 hoe for the weight of the machine, Kubota has the hoe thing figured out.

The L48 replacement should not be physically larger than the current machine. It should be heavier and more nimble and powerful. Forget trying to finish mow with a machine this size or even Mow for that matter in all but the most open fields. The 3 Pt hitch is for other implements. It should be cat 1 & 2.

I figure the L48 replacement a 10,000 Lb Class machine with at least 60 Hp, 4 Speed hydro or a GST that shifts quick enouth not to loose speed on hills and has a Park feature would be real sweet.
The JD type Load Match and an Idle down/up feature would be nice.

An enclosed cab Option needs to be available with air and heat. Front Tires should be 12x 18 R4's with a real heavy front axle that can turn real tight. The machine wheelbase should be kept the same, but overall width can go up 3 to 4 Inches with a 76" wide bucket. Current rear tires are the right size.

Loader capacity should be 4,000 lbs at bucket center. 0.75-0.8 Yard, +6000 at the breakout. Breakout is very important!

The Hoe should have about +9000 lbs at the bucket and +6000 at the dipper. 11.5 - 2' Dig depth.

Thing should sell for considerably less than $50 K or about 10 K over the L-39, 5K over the JD 110 without an enclosed cab. Font Rear lights, Horn should be std! The Cab can go for $50 K-ish. This machine will go against the small construction BH's for at least 20K less. I think a lot of contractors will give up 25% in capacity for the $$. The spread between the Kubota TLB's will make sense. The JD 110 will be the odd fit.

Mike,
Now that you've effectively described my dream machine, I know it will never happen. I love the power you describe but I don't see anyone coming close to those numbers. The bobcat A300 uses the Kubota engine but has more lift then the kubota machine, but no pto, so I'll stay with the TLB's for a one machine fits all world. Anyone got any numbers on the L39 or L48. Thanks
