Kubota L48 hydraulic problem

I have to throttle up to 1100 rpm's or so to raise the bucket or 3 pt. hitch with the bush hog on after the transmission fluid heats up. When I first start the tractor all works fine. Any suggestions?

I guess I would have to ask, how many hours on tractor? Have you serviced the tractor yet and changed filters?

Hydraulics:
Type: open center
Pressure: 2800 psi [193.1 bar]
Total flow: 25.9 gpm [98.0 lpm]


Your hyd flow should be about linear, and therefore at half engine rpm you should be pumping half The GPM stated for attachments.

Several things can cause poor operation.

worn pump

hot thin fluid

filters clogged

3ptvalve leaking

3pt cyl seals leaking

air in system

1050 hrs. Problem started at 800hrs. Yes, it has been serviced, new filters, and the suction filter is clean. I have a feeling the pump is going and after the purchase of a new sub frame now it would be another 950.00 for a new pump.

Hi Brian - have you usually found the wear in the housing or the end plates - or both? I had a Cessna pump in my TLB that I could get a $100 kit with end plates & seals. The end plates had wear but the housing looked smooth. Have you ever found kits for Kub pumps? Seems like messtrap could use a break on this rig. 1050 hours is not much use for this much trouble.

The aluminum housings wear unfortunately.
