Kubota L48
I have a Kubtoa L48 with Auxillary Hydraulics on the loader arms. I want to change out the hydraulic pump to increase the flow. The factory pump only gives me 12 gpm. I would at least like to get upto 25 gpm so I can run some hydraulic attachments off the front loader arms. Any suggestions.

My understanding is that about your only option is to use a PTO driven pump / tank set up.

So, you want to double the speed of loader operation. Now, are your FEL valve and 3pt valves rated for 25 GPM?

If all the tractor did was to generate hyd power,

12 GPM at 3000 psi = 25 HP.
12---------2500 psi = 21 HP.

The specs say your tractor generates a total of 25.9 GPM's, and if true, some of that goes to steering.

If you need 25 GPM's, at 3000 psi, = 51 HP.
-------------25---------2500 psi---- =43 HP

You have 37.5 HP at the PTO.

Your tractor has a separate swing pump for the back hoe. You could combine out from the swing pump with the main pump to get more flow. I do not have the spec's for your tractor but am guessing the swing pump is 6 or 7 GPM so could get 18 or 19 GPM without adding a PTO pump. It would probably be best to add a new valve and run separate lines from your backhoe connections. The swing pump typically has a lower relief pressure, probably 2500 psi verses 2800 psi for the main. You could tee the main and swing connections together but put a check valve in the swing pump line so the main could not back feed through the swing relief. Connect the teed lines to the pressure port of the new valve. It would be best if the new valve had an integral relief that you could set at the lower pressure of the swing relief. Connect the return from the new valve to the backhoe return. You would not be able to use your backhoe or three point lift while you have the new valve connected.
