Hello all -

I have a 2003 L4300DT with a LB552 loader that only has 130 hours on her. I bought it new with a 72 inch woods rotary cutter (bushhog) and a 72 inch box blade for 22k. The tractor and equipment have been shed kept, and it is all in very good condition. Wondering what i should price it at, have to sell due to a relocation.

Thanks in advance ....

Bo

wow ... no replies. let me add another one, should i list this gal via ebay? any luck or history on the board here doing that. where is the best place to advertise the equipment?

more on the tractor. i currently live in tappahannock, va on 68.5 acres. it has been used for general maintenance (hauling etc), bushhogging, road grading, and dragging timber. the only issue with it is the bucket is a slightly bent (I picked up the end of a log that was a bit too beaucoup!). other than that the fit, finish and mechanicals are 10/10. also, r4 tires probably > 90%.

thanks - bo

Hi bo,
Saw your post earlier but hesitated responding.

I picked up a new L4300DT with LA682 FEL in Dec. 2004 for around $16,800 when they were closing them out. I added some stuff (block heater, filled rears, 2 rear remotes, grapple thingy on bucket) which brought it to about $19,900. I think if I were to sell it today (80 hours) with all the stuff on it, I might ask $16.5K to $17K and expect to come down some to move it.

You don't indicate any options/remotes/whatever, plus your loader is lower rated that the LA682. That being the case, I think you may be in the $14.5 to $15.5K range for the tractor/loader alone. Maybe add $1.5K for the implements

But I'm far from expert in this. You might want to start around $17K for the tractor/loader and see if you get any bites. If nothing pops up, maybe add the attachments to the package one at a time before easing the price down.

Others who know more about selling may come along with better advice.

Thanks Bob ... the 15ish ballpark is what I was hoping for. The only addition to it is a brush guard on the front. The one mistake I did do was the lighter duty loader, I knew I should have gone with the heavier duty one, it was an option at the time. Where is the best place to list the thing?

Thanks again for the input - Bo

ps .... now that we are getting there with the tractor, can I interest you guys in my boat? :D

Barlow Equipment has this one, no loader.

L4300DT 4WD tractor - like new with only 90 hours, 2004 model, $12900.

Where are new L4400s, 19,900? Warranty and 0% worth 2-3,000. Used attachments 1/2-3/4 of new price?

Bo,
You might try posting the tractor here in the classifieds or at tractorhouse.com. There may be other sites I don't know about. Don't know how effective these are. The dealers don't seem to take responses from the net very seriously so the sites may just draw tire kickers. I suppose I'm guilty of that myself.

Probably the best bet is the local Pennysaver where you live or the local car/truck/equipment rags they distribute at the supermarkets. Maybe your dealer would agree to a consignment sale. Clean, late model equipment in the used section gets a lot of attention around here. Lots of old farmers never buy new, only used.

Living next to a busy highway, I just park whatever in the front lawn and hang a sign on it. If my price is right, it's usually gone in a week or two.
FWIW
Bob

P.S. The boat too!? Bo, what you going to have left to live for? Hope you've thought this through. ;)

hey bob ... you suggested the route that i was thinking. i am going to put it in the local trading post, and equipment trader. would like to put it by the road, but i do not trust it out there by itself!

you dont know the half of it. i got a job offer that i cant refuse and my family and i are trading country life for beach life in st petersburg florida. the heart breaker is my wife and i have been restoring and rennovating our farm and it's 1750 built house. we have put the last 5 years working on it from clearing out overgrown pastures, building barns, and the endless renovation projects on the house itself. go figure ... we are just getting the place to the point that you say "wow" when you come down the 1/4 mile driveway!

as for the boat ... check this out ...

BoatTraderOnline

my fishing machine is something that i really do not want to sell. but, it is the wrong type of boat for the waters around st petersburg. i think i need something a littel smaller and easier to trailer down there. that way i can really do some exploring. the chance for my wife and i to learn and fish florida, is what we are really looking forward to.

thanks for the input!

bo
