Hello everybody,

I'm into buying a used L40 series tractor
I was wondering if the size of the L3540 is the same in width et length and height than the L5740 or the L4240?
And How about HP. i mean that my use will be on my land, about 7 acres of forest in and 80% sand soil. The HP will be mostly for snowblower, 74" wide. I'm in northern quebec so we need this!
Will i regret HP loss on a L3540 VS a L5740?
Thanks for all info,

I can not give you any information on size difference, but I have a Grand L3240 and run a 74" blower with no problems at all.

I have a L3240 Grand, and 23 acres. It is plenty of tractor for normal task like gathering firewood, plowing the garden, tilling the garden, digging small trees with the backhoe, and digging ditches with the backhoe. I don't need a snow blower, so I can't comment on that.

I also own a L3240 and like has been mentioned the 3240/3540 are the same frame size which is smaller than the 3940 on up. If the 3540 is in good shape and the price is right go for it. Make sure it has the 724 loader though as they also offered a smaller loader for them which is much weaker. The 854 loader is only available on the 4240 on up as was also mentioned.

Now superseded L3240/L3540 dimensions:

115" Length (w/o 3-PT)
59.8" Width (Ag tires)
94" High (Top of ROPS)
3,300 pounds (+/-) (tractor only)

The L3540 will be plenty of tractor for you.

My dealer does this all the time with zero issues.

I lucked into a used L3940, otherwise it would have been a 3240.
I can blow through a snowbank that is 4' wide, 2' tall at least a mile an hour. And that's not WOT.
