Sorry if this is completely stupid, but I just purchased this tractor with my recent home and have not had any similar machinery in my past.

Should a Kubota L3750 have two different PTO speeds? It seems from the worn sticker that it should, and it almost feels like there is a center detent in the lever, but the detent is so weak that it is not a tell tale sign. And, there is only one speed working (seems like the slower speed). In the parts manual it looks like shaft item 10 has a gear that engages secondary shaft gear 80 as well as primary gear 20 that engages secondary gear 90 (when shifted). But this pic is the only image I have to base a decision. I tried to upload a jpg of the parts image so those numbers make sense, but my upload keeps failing? They are from the L4150 parts manual, page 57. At least I tried to answer my own question before posting something stupid.

Also, does anyone have a WSM they could email me. I found an L4150 parts manual and I assume they are 90% the same so that will be good enough to see the diagram and then confirm pns with a dealer. I found a WSM on ebay, but thought I would ask for some kindness before I dropped even more cash on this thing (already need to replace all filters and fluids since the last filter change is marked 2007).

Thanks in advance for the help.

If you have a 2 speed PTO, you should also have 2 PTO shafts. The 540 PTO is standard. The higher speed PTO has finer teeth on it so you don't accidentally hook up your brush cutter to it (that'd be bad).

I'd also like to get my hands on an electronic WSM. All I can seem to find is paper, and I can't really tote a paper manual around here at the office like I can a PDF file.

Thanks for that info, that is helpful. Single output for me so single speed. At least I no longer think something is broken.

What? You mean I was wrong? Cr*p. Don't let my wife know.

Seriously, though: That could cause some horrible damage to equipment if an operator didn't know what he was doing. Doesn't most equipment run at 540 RPM?

Most equipment is operated at 540 RPM. A higher speed PTO can allow you to operate attachments that don't require a lot of HP at a lower engine RPM to save fuel and wear.

Thanks for the replies. This is what I originally had thought so I guess I will take it apart soon.

Havent gotten any WSM offers yet? Anyone?

I also have a L3750, believe the lower handle position for the PTO is the 540 rpm. What is "WSM"?

WSM = Work Shop Manual.

I can find paper versions at online retailers, but no one seems to have any sort of digital copy that I can keep at work on my PC.
