If it has glow plugs use them doesn't say what part of country your from but may want to invest in some type of block heater may also need to winterize. additives to fuel and if tires are loaded. sorry not much help but a cold day here is when it goes below 60 degrees.

We have a Kubota L3710 bought new in 2002. Plows snow every year, kept in unheated garage mostly, sometimes sits outside. Glow plus have never been quite right since day one, but I cant think of a single time that tractor would not start. Big part of that is winter additive in the fuel.

I have never had a problem starting mine in northern NY,right next to Canada. It does sit out side.
Winter fuel and Powerservice, block heater if below 20 degrees F.

BoyT,
I also just bought an L3540 and I ran upon a post where one member on here mentioned they had a hard time starting theirs when the temp got below 40 deg. He said his dealer tracked it down to an incorrect relay that was installed at the factory causing the glow plugs not to work. Once that was fixed, he said he has no problems starting. I know "The Fred" posted this issue with his L3940 also under "I hate my tractor II".
BTW if you do replace this relay, you might want to source it from somewhere else - Messick's lists it for $80!!

My L3240 is also used for winter snow removal and I store it in an unheated garage. I do plug the block heater in when it is below freezing for one hour before use and I have a battery tender to keep the battery topped off. It has always started with no problem, even when 10 below.

My 5240 has started very well down to about 0* F. It runs rough for a little bit and blows a lot of smoke but it fires and runs on the first revolution so I can't complain.

I have a video posted on youtube of my L3940 starting at -6F. Unheated pole barn, 5w-40 synthetic, fresh winter mix fuel, PowerService white bottle, no block heater. Search L3940 starting minus -6F. Philip.

If you have r-4 tires you are going to want chains.

Mine sits in a heated garage so I'm not any help. Sure like it for moving snow though as I'm sure you will also!
