Kubota L3540
Just want to make sure i am maximizing the potential of the 3540, what is the largest- Disk/Bush Hog/Box/ 2 row turning plow it can run? R4 tires are unfilled and is HST and has FEL. Prior tractor was Massey 255, heavy 53hp, 2 wd non loader. Main use will be green field prep, plowing , disking, mowing general FEL use on 100 acres.

Thanks in advance! JC

Without fluid and R4's and HST it will be limited, lift discs 5' maybe, bush hog 5', box blade 5', 2-12 plow. Soil type will make a difference as well.

Get fluid in your tires.

it may turn a 6' cutter

You probably know an L3540 isn't set up as an ag tractor like your previous one, so you're going to miss some of that 53 horsepower the Massey had when pulling a heavy disk or too much plow. I agree with others suggesting putting weight in the tires to help those R4's get some traction. A 2 bottom plow and a good 3 pt disk should be OK although a lot of folks have good results with a 3 pt rotary tiller instead, probably a 5 ft on your L3540. Your soil conditions would be a factor, of course. You're kind of on the borderline with a brush mower. For light cutting you'd probably handle a 6 ft, but with heavy grass or brush you'd be happier with a 5 ft.

I run 6ft everything on my 37 hp Kubota HST. Scraper, tiller, and brush cutter. Get some ballast of some sort very soon.

With HST, you have a shade less HP available than I do with an L3400 gear drive. You have more weight which helps with traction. It should handle a 2-14 turning plow, maybe even a 2-16 in light soil. Mine has zero problems with a 2-12.

Bush hog type mower, it'll handle a six foot in light going, but in heavy material will do better with a 5 foot mower. I don't cut many saplings with mine, I find the heaviest load is dense meadow grass.

I pull a 6.5 foot 3-point disc without any problems, but I think it's getting close to the limits. The disc I have has 15 inch discs, an 18" disc with the discs buried might be a different situation.

I have loaded Ag tires as well.

Look in the L3540 Operator's Manual under IMPLEMENT LIMITATIONS for Kubota's answers.

Kubota's data is the place to start, however, from my experience with a Kubota B3300SU, the listed Implement Limitations are conservative.

I'm with Roger. My Brother's L3240 has all four tires filled, handles a 6' Rhino cutter pretty easy. Also handles a 6' box blade.

Is there any benefits to having the front tires filled?
