Kubota L3450
So I have a L3450 which has no rear remotes. I occasionally have the need for them for a hydraulic lift disc and a 4 row corn planter that I use for preparing wildlife plots. I thought I could just use the loader bucket tilt circuit, so I installed quick connects on the in and out of the loader control bucket tilt circuit. I then ran hoses back to rear remotes which I installed. When I want to use the remotes I just unplug the bucket hoses and plug the remote hoses in. Sounds like it should work to me but.... it doesn't. When I hook the planter cylinder hoses up, it will lift it, but will not go back down unless I shut the tractor off. It wants to lift in both directions... If I reverse the hoses then it will go down with power but not go up, (it tries to go up part way). When I hook the bucket hoses back up it works perfect. My friend has a Massey 1035 that we tried this on and it did the same thing. What am I missing? Any help is appreciated. thanks

When you unplug the bucket hoses are you sure that both ends of both the bucket curl cylinders are disconnected from the valve ???
If you are then maybe the regenerative curl valve is not compatable with your corn planter some how.

for my front-mount snowblower, I have to go past the first curl detent (regen, I guess) and go to the second position to get the chute to rotate. Did you do that?

On the dump stroke, many FEL valves pressurize both ends of the tilt cylinders. The cylinders extend ok because the rod end has less working area and is overcome by the big end. On the roll-back stroke the big end gets exhausted normally. This arrangement gives good control of heavy bucket loads without need of an expensive control valve.

Using the tilt circuit for other things is tricky, It will work on double-acting cylinders with 2 hoses. But if your lift cylinders have one hose the dump stroke of your FEL valve can't exhaust it.

Adding a real remote with its own valve would be best. Take care, Dick B

I am guessing that your implements have single acting hydraulic cylinders.
Your fel cylinders are double acting.

The only FEL valve that could control your single acting implement cylinder is the one for the cylinders on the main arm of the FEL IF you have a float position on the valve that controls them. Otherwise there is no way for the pressure in the single acting cylinder to be released back to the main reservoir.

From another of my posts:

I found some info which explains how with a certain type of rear remote valve you can operate a single acting cylinder. The rear remote valve must have a float position.

From a Kubota manual:

To use the single-acting cylinder with the float valve,
connect this cylinder to the , [D] or [F] port.
To extend a single-acting cylinder, pull the remote
control valve lever rearward. To retract a cylinder,
push it fully forward to the "FLOAT" position. Do not
hold it in the down position, the transmission fluid may
be overheat.
