Kubota L345
My PTO will shift OK without mower attached, but will just grind gears with mower attached. Can this be corrected by adjustment of the clutch and, if so, any advice for quick and easy adjustment.

Mine is doing the same thing. The clutch works the PTO and the transmission. The transmission clutch is disengaged when the clutch pedal is pressed halfway, but the PTO remains engaged. Both the transmission and PTO disengaged when pedal is fully press down. This info is out of my owner manual.
My clutch pedal needs adjusted. Its not disengaging or engaging like it should, and the pedal is not popping back up like it should. I was told I needed new spring, but it didn't change any thing. Was trying to find a pic or something showing me how the spring hooks up. It was hooked to the place on the floor pan, across a bolt that hold clutch rod in place, and then to the pedal. Not sure if it should go over the bolt or not. If you could share any pic or info you find, it would be appreciated. If I can help you out with any thing just let me know. This is my first tractor so I'm just learning also.

Hazzmat, have you tried finding a diagram of the clutch assembly on Messicks.com website. The diagrams will show each part and tell if they have one in stock. I have not gotten mine adjusted yet since I have been using implements not needing the pto. But I've got to start running my mower pretty soon, so I am going to have to address the problem. If I learn anything I think may help you, I will pass it on.

I forgot to say that the attachment was for clutch adjustment of an L3450. I don't know how similar it is to an L345 clutch. I think it is a similar model manufactured in mid '90's.

The symptoms described are classic worn travel clutch. And the L345 is NOT made like the L3450. On the L345 the pto and travel clutch disks are NOT separately adjustable

If your pto engages ok with nothing connected but grinds with mower attached, it's because the travel clutch is adjusted to where the pto clutch is not fully disengaging. With nothing connected during pto engagement, it only has to spin up the internal shaft and gears which have relatively low rotational inertia, compared to a rotary cutter. So it goes in with little or no grinding. But with a load connected, there's too much resistance.

You might borrow a little time by adjusting the clutch pedal linkage a little, so the pedal takes up higher, seeing if you can find a balance point. But tractor travel without slipping is important too. As mine have gone that way (my current L345 is doing this now) I just get in the habit of turning the engine off, engaging the pto lever and starting it up again. If there's a situation that needs the pto disengaged the lever can always be moved to neutral.

The real solution is to replace the travel clutch. But procrastination can last quite a while

Thanks for the info and the pic of the clutch adjustment. I haven't been on here in a while. My clutch wasn't disengaging or engaging. When I pressed in the clutch the tractor still was pulling. I read more of my owner manual, there's a grease fitting in the throw out bearing department. I greased it and my clutch pedal started being easier to press and the tractor stop trying to pull with the clutch pressed in. The pedal still isn't coming all the way up, it lacks about 2in from being to the top. Might just need more adjusting. Maybe the pic will help. Still would like a pic of the pedal spring. Just to make sure its hooked up correct.
I haven't had time to hook up my cutter to the PTO to see if it help with the grinding. I have been cutting off the tractor and cutting on the pto and cranking back up. Got to looked up more about the travel clutch like rbargeron suggested. Thanks again yall.
