Hello everyone - I currently own a Kubota B21 TLB. I am considering selling my unit and buying a Kubota L3430 which has a loader but no hoe.

My question is - will my BT751 backhoe fit onto the Kubota L3430 tractor. I understand the seat on the L3430 does not spin around like my B21 therefore will need to adapt a seat, not an issue.

If anyone has the Kubota PDF specs on the L3430, please send to me or let me know where to get the info. The year I am looking at is a 2003.

Also, does the L3430 have the ability to mount a front snow blower? If yes, are people driving the blower mechanically with the rear PTO or does the L3430 have a mid PTO?

I like my B21 with the rugged construction as well as the ability to have a secured Backhoe mounted to the tractor and not the 3pt hitch. I did no realize that Kubota offered this Backhoe mounting on other tractors. I am not sold 100% on the L3430 but so far it looks like the extra power, lifting, etc will suite me well.

Thanks for any info you have.

Scott

Also, does the L3430 have a true front locking differential or is it a one wheel wonder like my B21?

Thanks

Just to get you started, the factory backhoe for the L3430 was a BH90. That's a pretty good sized backhoe and it does have a 4 point subframe type mounting to the tractor. I expect it might be physically larger than the one on your B21, so the mounting points to fit your current backhoe might have to be custom fabricated. I think the current BH92 offered by Kubota is an refinement of the BH90, so the dimensions and performance may be pretty similar. You can get the specs for the BH92 from the Kub website. Lots of BH90 owners here... someone else will probably have better info for you.

Thanks - Does anyone know where to find the model number of an L series tractor on the tractor?

The stickers on the hood are gone, just has L3 which I am pretty confident there was 3 more numbers.

The ROPS supposedly says "L35". I know this is NOT an L35 which is the construction style tractor very similiar to my B21.

Any help in telling me where the model number of the tractor is located would be helpful.

Thanks

Scott

Should be a serial number plate on the outer left side of the chassis, just up from the oilpan and behind the front axle. The dipstick protrudes from the sheetmetal just above it.

Here's a link to an old thread with some good pictures of one guy's new-in-2005 L3430. You can see the ser. no. plate in one of the pics. The Lxx30 series had chrome model numbers on the hood, not decals like the earlier Lxx10 series. Are the chrome numbers gone, or is it possibly an Lxx10 model?

The L series tractors have a standardized, interchangeable ROPS, so the tag on it may not tell very much.

Also, there is no front diff lock on the L series... it's the same as your B21.

It has the digital hour dash which I believe was offered on the "grand" tractors.

So if it is a Grand series and has 35HP and was built in 2003, what L series tractor would it be?

How would I know if it has mid mount PTO option?

Probably L3430. If it has a mid-pto, you should be able to look under the tractor and see the pto stub shaft, which protrudes from the front of the rear differential, so you could connect it to a belly mower between the front and rear axles.

With credit to Yankee_Clipper, here's how you find the engine information:

"If you look between the injection pump and the valve cover, the engine nomenclature and serial number will be found stamped into the machined boss on the top face of the block.

It should read something like :"V1403-E2 123456" - V- four cylinder - 1400cc nominal displacement - 03 family of engine - E2 emissions met and the sequence or serial number 123456. It may also have some alphas in the numbers indicating - like "8A4567" month and year if it is a newer engine."

nvr-enuf,

With respect to the BH90 What specs are you looking for. I have the owners manual and can look it up for you. Then again I believe this info is still on the Kubota website.

I wanted to compare the digging force against my BT751

I have had one since 05 and have been happy with it. I went with it for stability after borrowing a friends smaller Kubota and finding it rather tipsy on my uneven property.

I have never seen both front wheels try to pull together in wet soil. I suspect it does not have a locking differential as you asked.

Once and awhile I sense it could benefit from a touch more horsepower. Usually this is driving down the road in high gear and noticing the tractor can't stay at speed when going up a grade. I learned to use the cruise lever to drop off the speed a little to keep the RPM up. On that same grade, just keeping the foot to the floor (on the hydrostat pedal) will result in the tractor trying to stall out.

Snow plowing, brush mowing, FEL operations, I have no complaint about power.

I have an old woods 750 3sp BH that works great with the tractor at idle. I am able to easily push the tractor with the BH when relocating for digging a long ditch.

I have to believe a front blower is possible. I don't mow and do not have a mid mount PTO on this one.

I think I might like the hydrostat in the new tractors but I am happy this is paid off and still running well. (unlike the gas garden tractors that I have)

My owners manual in in the next room if you have a specific question.

Good Luck
