Kubota L3240
I have a 2011 L3240 that I'm installing a factory 3rd function valve kit on (#L2221). I am stopped at valve tank tube. According to the 724 Loader installation instructions, there should be a tank tube coming from the bottom of the loader block. On my tractor there is not a "valve tank tube". I have looked all over the web and these forums but haven't found the solution. The kit may have different parts for different models. Using the pieces available, there isn't an obvious solution. I'm pretty handy but I am not to familiar with hydraulics. Any ideas? 20131113_171144.jpgScan0006.jpgScan0006 (2).jpg

On the loader valve, the return port will only have flow when the cyl are moving, so if you crack a line and work the cyl, there will be flow. If the lever is in neutral, there will be no flow.

If you crack the PB line, it will have flow at all times the lever is in neutral.

Hi JJ. I am trying to decipher what you're saying. Am I only looking for a way to return the fluid? I could work around that I suppose. I'm just trying to figure out if i'm crazy because the kit, directions and tractor are not matching. There are no fittings with my kit. I would imagine that plug on the bottom right of my loader valve could be made into a return.

Your return appears to be coming from the bottom of the valve, and you can tee into it somehow.

You could also run the return from the new valve into the fill cap.

You could cut into the return line and install a compression tee.

Are there any return lines with a fitting other that a banjo fitting available?

Where the return line from the loader goes into the case of the tractor, can you add a tee there.

Your new 3 function valve, is it a lever valve or a solenoid valve?

The line you say isn't there in the 1st pic doesn't look like that, it's short like the new line #4. The new #4 line has the tee in it for you to hook on to. The parts manual shows a short line shaped just like the #4 line without the tee. In your 2nd picture it looks like the one is step 5.

JJ- I Believe tapping into a return line wont be that hard to do... I can add a tee like you say. But wouldn't i have to release the lever to let the 3rd function valve release its pressure through it? I may be able to hook into the rear hydraulics return... Ill have to look at that closer. It is a solenoid style valve.

Leejohn- here are a couple pictures that show more detail. The only other line down there that looks close, has different type of connections and is a smaller diameter20131113_201138.jpg20131113_201328.jpg

Using a 3rd function valve, you only have a P,T. A and B port, so there is no separate return. The tank port passes all fluid to the next valve. All ports are high pressure ports.

The T port from the solenoid valve will go to the 3pt input.

I solved the big mystery today.... I was sold the wrong kit. I have a 3 series kit and the dealer sold me a kit for the 1-2 series. I have some pictures and tips of how i got it to work but i'm heading out the door for 2 weeks. I will post on here when I get back.
