Hello. I知 looking to add a 3rd function valve to my L3200 to control a grapple and plow. I have a slew of questions that I know can be answered by you fine folks. Most people say the installation is pretty easy. I do my own wrenching on vehicles to the extent, I have my own car lift. Mechanically, I知 confident in my ability to navigate the hardware install. Routing the power to a 12v source, is not a big deal either. Where I知 at a loss is, the hydraulics. I know nothing about hydraulics, aside from push a lever and something happens. Am I crazy to pay my two local dealers $1200 (WR Long Kit) or $1300 (Landpride Kit)? Is one kit preferred over the other? What about the Summit brand I see all over google when searching; Anyone have experience with that one? Do I have to bleed lines when I知 done? How do I know how much hydraulic fluid to add back in? No dipstick... trust the glass window? What type of hydraulic fluid is recommended? UDT2 I'm assuming. Do hydraulic fittings require some sort of Loctite (no tape I got that much)? Seems the ports to tap into on my tractor are starring you in the face right beneath your right foot and seem simple enough to connect. If I could find someone local to expedite this process, I壇 happily throw someone a few bucks. I appreciate any help!

Have Kubota 3rd function, dealer installed when tractor was ordered.

Adding hydraulics will require extra fluid, cycle functions a few times will bleed air out of system.
Kits should have extra - correct length hoses for your install
Follow directions to avoid this guy's mistake

Get the WR Long kit... easy as pie. And I'm a carpenter, not a mechanic...

I don't have it but would recommend WR Long... lots and lots of great reviews. You can put it in, no need for a dealer to install... everything included.

Yes

Is one kit preferred over the other?

Both are good

Do I have to bleed lines when done?

It will bleed out with use

How do I know how much hydraulic fluid to add back in? No dipstick... trust the glass window? What type of hydraulic fluid is recommended? UDT2 I'm assuming.

No need to add fluid unless you are ****. That tractor holds about 7-1/2 gallons. Which is 30 quarts. The volume of the cylinder and hoses will need less than quart. Well within the operating range. But if you must add fluid....use whatever you use when servicing. The gear tractors arent picky, but if HST....the consensus is to use the kubota SUDT2 stuff

Do hydraulic fittings require some sort of Loctite (no tape I got that much)?

Depends on the fittings. JIC, NPSM and ORB dont require anything. Pipe threads do. I like loctite 545. Teflon paste works too.

ITs a pretty straight forward install. I have never used the "kits" but people rave about them. I would assume all the parts and directions are there. Just make sure you tie the new valve into the PB hose coming off the loader valve and not the tank/return line.

Once you find the right line to tap into.....you simply remove that line that goes from the loader valve to the manifold under your right foot. Then run hoses from loader valve>3rd>back to manifold.

Thank you for all the prompt replies! Ordered the Landpride kit from Messick's. I'll report back once installed. :) Thanks again!
