Kubota l2900 tranny question

I'm looking online at a kubota l2900 with 400 hours, no FEL or implements for $7000.00. The guy told me it has a Shuttle shift tranny. There is a orange handled lever on the left side of the steering wheel. How does this tranny work? I really was looking for something that I could change directions and speed without pushing in the clutch. Will this tranny do that? If not how does it work?

I have an L2900 and it has the same transmission as the one you are looking at. You put it in any gear with the gear shifter and then the lever on the column is for forward and reverse. You have to use the clutch when you use the lever. I use my front end loader quit a bit for cleaning out pens, moving dirt and mulch, etc. and find it very easy to go from forward to reverse and back with the clutch and the shift lever.
I am not sure by your wording if it has a FEL or not. If it does I would jump on it for $7000. For me personally I would not buy a tractor without a FEL.
Mine has a little over 2000 hours on it and it runs great.

No FEL. But I was going to add one in a year or so. I think 7000.00 is still a good deal it looks new. What do you think?
