L2800 Kubota
I have a guy who is willing to sell me a 2005 kubota l2800 Hydrostat 4WD with 780 hours and a front end loader with forks and bucket along with a 5' box blade and 5' bush hog brand bush hod delivered for $9500 Is this machine worth it?? I plan on using a tiller along with the hog and an auger. Will the pto cam problems make this useless for what I want to do?? When did they change the cams and pto problems? and is this a good price. I am loacted in north Ga.

It's soooo good, I would be worried that it's a scam or stolen!!! I would guess it would be closer $12k (even more with what you get with it).

I have the same tractor, and I worried about the pto cam... talked to my dealer that said it's about a grand to replace. I have a tiller and I can hear the pto cams slip every once in a while. Take it slow and easy and you'll be fine.

I do baby my L2800 because I know it can break.

Look like the switch was made with SN# 55199 (would really stink to have 55198!!!)

Have you heard about the jerky 3ph? Some have a problem most can "live" with it... but you should know about it!!! Many threads about it.

With an implement on the 3ph, if you slowly raise the 3ph it moves in jerky little motions...

Was the that sn you gave only for the cam fix or did it include the 3 pt fix as well? his has sn very close to the number you gave slightly under by about 300, But it makes no noise when engaging or disengaging the pto. Sadly the pto only has about 10-12 hours on it. He bought it from a bankrupt hotel and has no use for the tractor they only used it to haul stuff around with forks. He used for about 12 hours of bush hogging and wants something bigger. Also he had it inspected by his local kubota dealer before he used it.

SN# was for the change with the "ratcheting" pto cam vs. the newer beefer Non-ratcheting cam.

There is not really a fix* for the jerky 3ph (new models have it still).

*There was a time if you were very unhappy and under the warranty period some dealers replace the valve with the Grand L series valve. (you can read that as throwing a heck of a pissy tantrum). I had mine replaced... :ashamed:

PS. The ratcheting noise only happens with something like a bush hog, and you step on the clutch or stand up (which shuts off the engine) the mower will continue to spin, forcing the pto to make the noise.
