Kubota L2501 price?

Greetings All,
I'm looking at buying a used Kubota L2501. Here‘s what I know about:
2017
HST
FEL
Loader bucket has after market teeth on it
3rd function hydraulic for the FEL
Kubota BH 77 back hoe w/frame mount
fluid filled rear tires with industrial tread
tire chains for all 4 tires
all the wheels are spaced out 2”
comes with a rear blade
420hrs

It looks like a clean rig, normal wear and tear. The guy selling it is asking $35,000. Is that a fair price? The seller is motivated to sell, so I'm pretty sure I have some wiggle room. I’m up in AK and there aren't alot of tractors in my area. Thoughts?

That's close to what I paid for my MX with BH/hydro thumb and forks in '15. I think that price is really high but it's a sellers market right now.

The market and tractor prices have changed since ‘15.

Id suggest visiting Kubota’s website and build an L2501 as close to that tractor as possible to get a comparable 2021 price and negotiate from there.

I’m thinking $30K is much more reasonable but, sea2summit is correct, it is a sellers market.

I just built it at it came in just over 30k without filled tires, chains. You can get 20% just by signing up for NCHA (for free). I would absolutely be calling a dealer before I thought about giving more than MSRP for a tractor with 5-10% of it's useful engine life already gone.

Way too high for a used machine with that many hours. You can probably pay less for a new machine with discounts!!

Though they read AK, not many people will fully understand the real pricing significance of that information.
If the seller is highly motivated to sell, you might wait him out.
Is he leaving AK and must sell?
He has set his price too high, and unless he gets lucky, he will drive all prospective buyers/lookers away.
For $35K or thereabouts, you could likely be very close to buying a new L2501 from your AK dealer, or maybe buying one in SEA, and having it shipped.

Willy,

That's a nice package with most of the things included - No BH though - that adds $7K, but the baler, grapple, and other goodies are likely equivalent to the BH.

Also, in Alaska things tend to be 20-30% more landed cost due to availability, shipping, and remote nature of the state.

For the original poster you need to evaluate 1) what's available new and cost/wait time to get one, is it 6 weeks or 6 months and can you wait and what is that cost to you? 2) 420 hours on a well kept machine is not a lot and if its in great condition it may be worth it, then 3) what is the seller motivation - need to sell to do X, or want to sell to upgrade?

If they want to sell this one to upgrade, then it may sit on the market for a while.
