Land Pride BB1260 weighs 346 pounds.

This is light for a Box Blade. If your Houston soil is tough BB1260 is not going to cut much.

If you intend to use BB1260 as primary Three Point Hitch counterbalance to loads in your LA525 Loader, it is not heavy enough.

I suggest you consider BB2560 which is 471 pounds. Box Blades begin to cut moist, average soil effectively around 100 pounds per foot of width.

BB2560 at 471 pounds is the minimum Three Point Hitch counterbalance needed to pick up close to max loads with LA525, which has a nominal lift capacity of 1,155 pounds.

My previous new Kubota was a B3300SU tractor/loader, 25-horsepower, one of several predecessor models to the L2501. It pulled my Bush Hog (brand) Rollover 60"/630 pound Box Blade fine but B3300SU did not want any more load than that. The L2501 has greater engine displacement and a little more chassis weight than the B3300SU, therefore L2501 is more effective at pulling fairly heavy ground contact implements. L2501 will have an easy time with BB2560.

L2501 is an excellent tractor. It is a bit loud. Operate wearing hearing protection.

Tractors under 3,000 pounds bare weight are offered in one configuration. Most, such as the high volume kubota standard L series, are sparely equipped to hit competitive price points. Others, such as the Yanmar YT235 and Kubota B2650/B3350 series, include enhanced productivity and comfort components.

Most tractors under 3,000 pounds bare weight are operated in residential applications on one to five fairly flat acres. These "residential tractors" fit in a typical garage.

Tractors over 3,000 pounds bare weight are generally offered in a utilitarian configuration and a deluxe configuration, on a common chassis. Deluxe kit enhances productivity and operating comfort ~~~ but you have to pay. Many tractors over 3,000 pounds bare weight are too tall to fit in a typical garage, even with ROPS folded.

Selling a used tractor is easy. Selling light implements in order to buy heavier, wider, implements for a heavier tractor you take a hit in depreciation. Passing time with multiple implement browsers is a pain. ((Ask me how I know.))

For most tractor tasks greater chassis weight is more important than tractor horsepower. This tractor fundamental is difficult for people new to tractors to comprehend. It takes a 50% increase in bare tractor weight before you notice a significant tractor capability increase. It takes a 100% increase in bare tractor weight to elicit MY-OH-MY!

Keep in mind that you cannot PUSH dirt with a Box Blade, with the tractor operating in reverse, with Three Point Hitch chain/turnbuckle Lower Link stabilizers. If you need to (prudently) PUSH dirt with a Box Blade you need to upgrade to rigid, telescoping Lower Link stabilizers.

If you only wish to PULL dirt with a Box Blade chain/turnbuckle stabilizers are fine.

I was just thinking about this yesterday Jeff, and I think you're not thinking about this correctly. As long as the turnbuckles are tight you can absolutely push stuff backwards. Telescoping stabilizers will resist being pushed on, which turnbuckles don't, BUT as long as there isn't a bunch of slop in them, the one that's trying to be pulled on will keep it stable.

My Kubota MX4700 has turnbuckles. I'm not saying I prefer them, but they work just fine. I have the Farmi winch on it right now. I'm definitely able to push logs going backwards with the winch legs. No different than backing up into a pile of dirt with a box blade.

The turnbuckles have nothing to do with it — you can bend or break stuff pushing backwards with either type of stabilizer. The arms and links are not sized to take compression loads very well. I only push backwards with soft materials, light snow, or with box feathered to smooth.

You may be correct, although I cannot comprehend how chain stabilizers can be supportive in compression, rather than tension.

When I bent the chain stabilizers on my B3300 SU I was already miffed at difficulty I was having mounting Three Point Hitch implements. At the same time I ran across Mark Hodge's 'Stabilworks' rigid stabilizers which I ordered immediately. The factory chain stabilizers weighed about four pounds. Hodge's replacement rigid stabilizers weighed fourteen pounds.

At 400 engine hours I sold the B3300SU and bought my 50% heavier L3560 Grand L which came with beefy rigid stabilizers, which I am prudent pushing, but do not baby.

Thank you for the information we will definitely consider this.

They don't do anything under compression. But when one of them compresses, the other one is under tension. The one under tension prevents the implement from moving. If they're both tight, then one of them is always under tension. Like s219 says though, you can break stuff either way.
