The "02" Series of tractors were produced in a joint effort by Kubota with Daedong of China, makers of the Kioti tractor.
Daedong build the transmissions, Kubota provided the bevel drives, the engines and the final drives.
Sheet metal was of Daedong design which is why no other Kubota tractors look like the
L1802's, 2002, 2402, 2602 and 2802's or share that skin.
While there are no 'direct" North American equivalents to this model, rest assured, a good majority of everything else is 100% Kubota and available.
You're going to need a Master Parts and Factory Assembly manual for this tractor if you're ever going to have success getting parts by 'part number".
Good luck on anything related to the transmission, it's a hybrid. Kioti is probably using it in a few of their models, I haven't gone looking there, but probably.
Kubota licenced Daedong to build for them, and that lasted a while until Kubota got wind of The "technical rip-offs" that were taking place, and moved to sever ties with what was once, a strong business partner with Kubota.
Sooooo, yes, the Monroematic tractors had an adjustable hydraulic link on the RH side that could be controlled manually through a rocker switch mounted on the RH fender, but more importantly, the matching Monromatic rototiller had 2 built in "directional" sensors that would determined when the soil in a terraced rice paddy was uneven, and would automatically adjust the tiller depth to compensate. The sensor system plugged into the back of the tractor, through a small square white plastic plug in.
I have also had/seen/worked on "M" designated Kubota "02" series tractors that were without the Monroematic features. Think Kubota was just using up decals in the plant.
Vintage is early to mid eighties, the vast majority of "02's" were produced at the height of production 1983.
Kubota put the hurt on Daedong shortly thereafter and it was lawsuits after that.
Check out a Kioti tractor built by Daedong and tell me if you're not looking at a Kubota. Right down to the orange paint and same hood lettering!!!
