I just had the local Kubota dealer install the L2221 3rd function kit on my L3240HST tractor along with loading the rear tires with RimGaurd. My problem is the factory Kubota kit does not include the actual connectors that connect the tractor hydraulics to a bucket or grapple Etc. The breakout ports just come capped off as show in the pictures. I am a newbie to hydraulics and there appears to be lots of different connector types. I believe most tractors use a ISO or Pioneer type. Tractor Supply seems to have a good assortment but I want to purchase the correct items and sizes.

I have attached three pictures. I am hoping that someone familiar with the Kubota L2221 kit and breakout will know what size connectors I need to purchase. I also just purchased a 4n1 bucket and it has the connector in the first photo on it which appear to be a 3/8 somthing going by what is printed on them. I always thought hydraulic buckets/grapples would have one male and one female connector but the bucket that got delivered today has two female connectors from the factory. It is a Stoll 4in1 bucket.

Any input much appreciated :D

I always like to use a male and female coupler so as not to hook then up backwards. but as I learn tractor and implements don't do this you need to know size and type of thread coming out of valve. then you will have to get hoses made up to reach front of loader include the routing of hoses in this measurement quick couplings come in a lot of styles and brands if you already have 2 of the female then you can match them up for proper male fittings. there is no rule that says you have to leave both females on bucket put 1 female and one male that way they can not be crossed the vice versa on hoses coming from valve if you want quick removable of loader then you need couplings at valve also. not hard plumed.

I basically need to find out what type of connector thread is covered by the two caps. Are they NPT or some other type and there size 1/2, 3/8, Etc. I was hoping some other TBN member went through this already and had the sizes handy and could maybe offer some advise.

I was also hoping the two connectors on the new bucket could be identified from the picture also.

They look like Parker flat faced also capped fittings look like pipe since there is thread tape sealing the threads. a 3/8 fitting is a -6 and a 1/2 is a -8.

Got it done today😊

Capped ports were 1/2" NPT so I picked up the male/female 1/2" pioneer connector set at tractor supply for the tractor side. Great deal at $19.99.

For the bucket side no idea what the included connectors were so I removed them. Since the hoses were 3/8" NPT connection I used a 3/8" NPT female to 1/2" NPT male on each hose and used another of the pioneer sets as on the tractor side. I actually replaced the male connector from the set with a male that releases pressure for ease of connection and removal of the bucket. You do loose a little fluid each time the male is removed do to the pressure release design. I also picked up dust covers so the ports are protected when not in use.

Very happy with the setup. I have to say the loaded tires also help getting the tractor power to the ground (almost 600 lbs per tire so approximately 1200 lbs of weight added). The tractor is much more stable and does more in 2wd then I could do in 4wd before. Weight is your friend I guess. I have a 1000+ lb. ballast box on the rear also
