/ Kubota KX033-4 w/open canopy: stone/bush guard/screen recommendations? Plus boot thread question

Good Morning!
we recently purchased a new KX033-4 with the open canopy (if we wanted the enclosed cab we would have been #852 on the waiting list…). I am getting tired of having to wear my chainsaw helmet while operating so that I don’t get whacked in the face with branches.
I have not had much success finding guards for this unit, I would prefer metal bars or mesh over plexiglas, I don’t want to have to DIY fab one up.
there are six mounting bosses on the canopy frame, and I checked the threads with some tape, and quite oddly it seems to be 3/8-24 thread??? Not that I mind good old SAE sizes but i thought everything went to metric? Can anyone confirm the correct thread size?
