Kubota Kommander 121S with mulching kit VERY LOUD

Hey guys, first post... I love my new Kubota Kommander (23 hours on it now), it's just a downright cool mower. I bought it after selling my Gravely XTHD to a coworker.

My only quibble about the Kubota, when the blades are running (with Kubota mulching kit installed), it's SUPER LOUD! I have to wear ear muffs to mute the noise.

I know mower decks get louder when they're packed full of dirt, clipping etc, but mine is clean.

Once the blades are turned off, the motor sound is normal, so the noise is definitely the running blades/deck. It's not a belt sound or anything like that.

Suggestions? Is this normal??

Yeah, my Z724 makes a ton of noise with the mower running...I wear Worktunes always...Same as yours, the machine is normal noise with the mower off...Guess an 18k RPM blade rotation will do this. Cuts like nothing I've ever owned and the noise is only for 50% of the time--Think Positive.

My neighbor 1000' away told me that it's pretty noisy...He doesn't care though.

I agree with Tim high blade sleed is the culprit. I noticed it right away on my new Kubota ZD1211. Neighbor runs a grasshopper 61" diesel that i can hardly hear the engine noise without the deck spinning. He doubles the blades up in an x pattern for lift / mulching? Sounds like a helicopter when he fires up the deck. His house over 200 yards away

I took off my mulching kit this past saturday just to see if maybe it was the culprit.. but it's still loud... so you guys are right, it's just the voracious speed of those blades! No biggie

Put some WorkTunes on and cut away...You'll never know how loud it is and won't care.:drink:
