Kubota GR 2100 or 2110 Positive Reviews?

Hello,
I've come across a 2005 GR 2100 Kubota diesel with 300 hours (perfect condition) on it for around $3,000. I've read online until I'm blue in the face about all the negative experiences some owners have had, but I still find it hard to believe that the Glide Steer and/or transmission problems are as bad as they seem online.

Are there owners or friends of owners out there that have had positive experiences with the GR 2100 or 2110 models?

I have a 2009 year GR2120 that I am very pleased with. Use it for mowing and snow blowing. Sorry, no experience with the GRxx00 or GRxx10 series. Philip.

As a dealer, I'd have a hard time recommending one that has not had the transmission rebuilt. Its a great little tractor, but the failure rate of the 00-series is way above average.

I have a GR2100and have no problems except for one glide stear cable. It has seen a lot of hard use and give me good service. I guess there are good ones and bad ones. Maybe I've been lucky.

That's great.How about some specifics like # of hours and if purchased new or used.What's the serial number? Thanks.

I bought it new. It has 376 hours on it now. Ran it for two hrs yesterday helping a neighbor. Runs good with no problems.
Don't know s/n it out in the barn. When i checked, it was built after the problems were corrected.

OK,that explains why you haven't had big problems.

Unless the tranny has been upgraded,forget it. I had an '07 that tranny started making noises (I can't remember hours now,I think it was over 500,I do have threads here on it). If tranny craps out,you're looking at close to $3k or more to replace. I'd keep an eye out for a GR 2120 -they don't have the cables for the glide steer either.I bought mine in spring of '07,so it could've been an '06,not sure. The serial # I think was 15369......

Yep,early model untouched maybe a grand if it's low hours.I wrote down the serial number upgrade from bushings to bearings at 12588 and the pto upgrade at 11590.Mine is serial 11880 and the pto parts were changed when they did the free overhaul,incl larger charge pump.Stronger now at 400 hrs than when new. I think all the 10 series had the upgrades on the trans and redesigned bracket mounts on the glidesteer cables which improved reliability and longevity.

I wonder how the axle clutches will hold up over time.Quick backup turns and stabbing the hydro quickly back and forth will likely shorten the lifespan.It's tempting to cowboy the system,but I don't ram it around and give the clutches time to do there thing.
