I have a Kubota BX2350 with about 27 hours on it. It has been back to my dealer twice for the same problem and it is still not fixed. After about 45 minutes to one hour of running time, the hydrolics make a loud "winning" sound when the bucket is dumped. It only does it when the bucket is rolled down to dump, not when any other movements are made. My dealer finally said he found a hydrolic line under the tractor that was damaged and replaced it. Althought the "winning" is not as bad, it still happens after 45 minutes to an hour of opperation. I was told that it is a vibration that they are having a difficult time locating and their is no problem with opperating the the front loader. I was guarenteed that no damage was being done and that I could opperate it with no problems. I have noticed that the front middle cylinder that dumps the bucket gets too hot to touch when it is "winning". Has anyone dealt with anythig like this? The tractor is great other than that sound.

Welcome to TBN. Unfortunately, I have found that many dealers don't have much knowledge when it comes to hydraulics. There are some that do very well, others that just don't want to know, or that's the way it seems.
If your cylinder is getting hot, that's an indicator of a restriction. As hyd oil is compressed, it becomes hot. If your cylinder has a hard time getting rid of the oil in the non-pressurized side, the fluid compresses and will heat up. I think you have another restricted hose. Funny thing is, if they don't have a clue what the problem is, how on earth can they guarantee there is no damage being done?
They need to put a pressure gauge at the valve and keep going downstream toward the cylinder then back to the valve until they find the restriction.

I have the same problem with my BX2350 and noticed that if I dump slow or if the tractor has not been worked for very long yet it does not make the sound. When in for the 50 hour service, they said they could not get it to make the noise I described. I also noticed that the cylinders get hot and I was thinking that the fluid was not cooling as it was circulating back and maybe I was working the bucket to hard.
Did your dealer say exactly where the restriction was? I'd like to check mine.

Just don't give up if you think there is a problem. They will eventually find the problem even though it will be a royal pain for you.

What are you considering as hot? Most Kubotas can hit 180F with 30 minutes of hydraulic work.
Hydraulic noise is difficult to diagnose. Sometimes the implement valves can cause noise and instability in the return lines. The pumps can be induced into instability to create broad spectrum noise that is unacceptable to the customer.
The keys to troubleshooting this are:
1. is this different than the other tractors on the lot?
2. If yet, has anything changed? did tractor always make this noise or just start?
3. Keep dealer engaged. Kubota won't keep dumping money into this, so its a challenge to keep the dealer fully in charge of leading the troubleshooting...

Andy is absolutely right. The hot water in your house feels scalding at about 130 degrees F. If your oil is 150-180 (normal range) it will feel very hot/uncomfortable to the touch. However, if the temperature goes up over 205F, you will see some degradation of the fluid at an accelerated pace.
If you look at all your metal hydraulic lines, you might find a clamp that is loose or a place metal touches metal. I'd wedge in some rubber or foam around suspect places to see if you can reduce/eliminate the whine. If the noise is internal to a valve, you may just have to live with it, but a high frequency vibrating line can make a really irritating sound.

A service tech dropped by and heard the sound my BX makes that they couldn't make. Later this week we are going to switch some hoses around and see if it goes away. I have to admit I am hydraulically challenged as he tried to explain it to me. I did notice some slop in the bucket when I dump it straight down. Is there a point where the pressures are equal that would allow a little travel in the piston causing a little swing back and forth?
