Gentlemen;

Looking at buying a new Kubota tractor using 0% finance.

Dealer says, after qualifying it will be $130 for paper work plus $30 per month for insurance for duration of payments or until paid off early.

Does that sound about right or to high?

The insurance is dependent upon the tractor price I believe, so without that knowledge, it may be hard to judge....

When I got my BX2660 I called a dealer and told them what I wanted on the tractor with Kubota insurance. They called back with total price and the payment, I said OK. 2 days later I got the tractor, signed the papers, and he kissed me on the cheek then the way he went. By the way I got, if any warranty needed to be done they would pick it up and bring back at N/C. There was no after shock BS.

I just bought a B2650 at the end of October. Total price came in at $18,825.00. Dealer quoted $17.00 a month for the Kubota insurance. I ended up adding a power sports policy from my homeowner insurance carrier. Cost for that is $14.00/month but I paid it in full for $126.00 for the year.

If you never take your tractor off your property, your current homeowners policy likely covers it for loss. I take my tractor to the property I hunt on to plant food plots so my HO policy doesn't extend to that.

One additional benefit that never gets talked about is that kubota insurance only covers damage / loss on the asset but the insurance I purchased has a liability component to it as well. If I hit someone on the road or damage a building on the other property, I have coverage for that. The extra insurance plus the lower cost made it a pretty easy decision for me.

Good luck.
John

Thank you for the quick replies!

Looking at one of the bigger L series , so the price will be close to $30k and finance maybe half of that.

You would likely need a rider/endorsement (or some such term) added to your homeowners specifically for the tractor. Always check, don't assume it would be covered.

Also, I highly recommend an umbrella liability policy in today's world!

I never take my tractor off my property. I checked - and got in writing - my homeowners policy covers the tractor. My homeowners policy will also cover any damage/loss on my property due to use of the tractor.

Taking & using a tractor off your property does add a considerable potential risk situation. Just as using the tractor for business ventures does.

Lots of people have looked for a better deal but most have gone with KTAC. It would have cost me more with a higher deductible & no off property coverage to add it to my homeowners policy. KTAC was a no brainer.

I suggest you contact KTAC directly:

http://www.ktacinsuranceagency.com

In my experience financing two new Kubota tractors KTAC insurance was roughly $450 per year, varying only slightly with tractor size.

Excellent, hassle free claim service from KTAC. $250 deductible per claim.

Jeff; Is this insurance from Kubota? It says "Kubota endorsed" ?

My understanding is the insurance from the dealer is from Kubota's finance
