Hi,

I stopped at my dealers to pick up some oil and hydraulic filters...200 hours is approaching and I want to change all the oils, a repeat of the 50 hour service...

It's time to pay and the total is about $20 more than it was last time...I ask why...

The parts lady tells me the 16271-320090 engine oil filter is now $14.01!

What? I paid $4.75 last time, glad I bought a couple extras...
.

Somethings wrong here I tell her, let's forget that one...

The 66021-36060 also has increased from $4.45 to $10.15...let's forget that one for the time being too...

She told me Kubota supplies a "tape" of prices that they enter into their computer system...and she will check and see what she can find out.

For reference, Tractorsmart lists the engine filter on their web site as costing $8.20 and the hydraulic filter I mentioned above as still being $4.45 ea...

Just a heads up in case you are buying filters from Kubota...perhaps they sent out some messed up pricing data to the dealers, and the dealers my be charging more than the real price for some things...

And maybe not just filters?

Have to call the parts lady at my dealership today and see if she found anything out...

Pls post what you find out......

Maybe I'd better buy a set of filters now before I can't AFFORD to buy them in another 40 hours!

Thanks.

Not sure what tractor you have, but the D782 on my ZD21 takes the same oil filter as my 89 Camry 4cyl. I get them from the toyota dealer for about $3.50.

Darn!...I had it in my mind to post that this was for my B2910 and somehow did not make it happen... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I did call the parts lady this morning and she did not bother to check into it...it's a toll call to Kubota you know...

Well...what can I say? Tractorsmart here I come?

Henro, Not sure what the pricing is all about. I will be at my 50 hour service in a couple of weeks so I will find out. If anything I will try to get my dealer to cut me a break. He treats me really good. I wouldn't imagine Kubota to do something like that. Probally a mistake.

Take your old Kubota filter numbers to a Nappa dealer and cross reference them and you will save more than half, they are the same filters only painted different

I have been buying from tractorsmart all along. Be willing to bet that the dealer is just screwed up or trying to stick it to their retail accounts. Afterall, tractorsmart gets the same price list from Kubota.
Now I have got to find a dealer for Chevron THF in the Southern Maine so I can reduce my fluids cost.

Ok Henro --

I was reading a story on USA Today and just figured out why you are buying the BX 2200.

The article mentioned the second winner of $261.3 million Powerball lottery jackpot bought the winning ticket in the Pittsburgh area. Was that you?? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Quotes from the article----
The other winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Cranberry Township, Pa., about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh.

The payout was the largest in Pennsylvania Lottery history, said state lottery director Edward Mahlman, who had some advice for the winner.

"We would like them to sign that ticket immediately — to then call a trusted financial adviser and lastly, to contact the Pennsylvania Lottery."

Just kidding---- Actually if you were the winner you would probably buy at least an L-4330 --with a cab of course! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
