Kubota Factory Recalls?

Hi,

I was reading another thread where someone complained that Kubota doesn't act on known problems unless the customer complains first...to paraphrase what was said...and that got me thinking.

For example, I guess it is pretty well documented that some BX2200s have fuel gages that are erratic, to say the least, while others seem to be real accurate. I even read a thread where kubmec posted that there was a service bulletin on this...and gave the number.

My new BX2200 has a fuel gage that is all over the place, while my b2910 is right on all the time from what I can tell.

So now I am curious...have there ever been any Kubota factory recalls? I mean the kind where the manufacturer tells you to bring your vehicle in for a repair for a known defect? Before you know to complain about it?

Anybody ever get one?

I will look around on Kubota's dealer site and see if I can find anything talking about a fuel guage problem with the BX's.

Kubota and other mfg's do send out warranty campaigns it is up to the dealers to let thier customers know most of the time. Although we are starting to see the mfg get more invloved in letting the customer know. (Fill Out The Warranty Cards and Mail them IN!!!!) We send our customers certified letters when a campaign affects them. As always if you are would like to know something specific let me know and I will try my best!

i have had this problem. call your dealer. the mechanic can adjust it very easily, they did for me.

Henro,

I just recieved a recall a couple days ago from Kubota about loader (LA723) hose fitting threads (PSB-2003-029). So I guess they do send them out.

I understand the point behind the warranty cards but what does an owner do if she didn't buy a brand new tractor? Then there's no card to fill out.

I have yet to find a dealer (3 so far) willing to look up my tractor's history on their computer.

I bought my Kubota used, so I wouldn't get any recall notices. But I have had one problem with the Kub, and one with a Bush-Hog attachment that I contacted the manufacturers about. In both cases, the problem could have put them in a serious liability situation (undersized ROPs on the tractor, and a PTO shaft with the wrong u-joint on it). In both cases they responded in an exemplary manner. I had another reason to contact Kubota about some confusing specifications in an Installation Manual, and they have never responded to the e'mail. So, I'm kinda of the opinion that if it is a problem that would worry their lawyers, then it gets attention, otherwise...maybe it gets addressed, maybe it doesn't. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Bill,
I was just by mine and your Kubota dealer yesterday .
They had a 3130 in for a 50 hr service . The tech. was doing a service bulertine at the same time ( Something to do with hydraulic lines to the loader (723 ) and something about the seat springs ) .
I believe that Kubota is making the effort to stay on top of things . After all, service bulletins are far less expensive than litegation ! John

I just got a recall letter about 2 weeks ago for my L3430 HST with cab. Apparently the wiring harness runs under the cab and has chafed on some machines causing a power failure. They told me to contact my dealer to have it repaired free of charge. I am going to take it over next week hopefully.
