Kubota engine oil

So T6 is ok to use in the smaller BX series(mine is 1870)-I have a Jetta diesel and use T6 in that so it'd be a lot easier for me....

Yes it is OK. I use it it in everything from my ATV's to my my dump truck. Been using it for many years and do fluid sampling with Cat SOS at oil changes. Quality product as proven by lab results.

MY local dealer recommended Shell Rotella T 15W40 year round after my warranty was up. He said the Kubota oil was just too expensive.

I use Rotella T 15W-40 in just about everything!

I think SAE 30 and 10w30 are probably essentially the same. 0w30, 5w30 or 10w30 would all work. They're all 30w but different at starting temperatures. The lower that first #, the better for protection.

I use 5w30 Castrol from VW for their TDIs but will switch to 0w30 if I can get it for near the same price. Presently have the Castrol in both the JD and the Isuzu diesels.

I was having this dilemma when I hit my 50Hr service on my m7060.. I wanted to run 5w40 since that is what I run in my truck, for ease of having a common oil, the manual does not say you can use 5w40. So I emailed Kubota about it and asked the dealer they both said "The manual does not list it as an approved oil" . Never go a reason why so i went with Rotella 10w30 Synthetic Blend because it was available locally and not to expansive But somehow sill more expensive than 5w40 full synthetic .

I wanted to run 5w40 since that is what I run in my truck, for ease of having a common oil, the manual does not say you can use 5w40. So I emailed Kubota about it and asked the dealer they both said "The manual does not list it as an approved oil" . Never go a reason why so i went with Rotella 10w30 Synthetic Blend because it was available locally and not to expansive But somehow sill more expensive than 5w40 full synthetic .

No worry if you change your mind, lots of people run it, I do too, Kubota is years behind in there oil spec, I wonder why... I noticed a big difference when I used it for the first time, all for the better, really I was surprised I could even tell, and I wasn't the only one.

Also what oil do they run from the factory ? I did my 50 hr oil change on my M7060 and that stuff came out like water.. like the thinnest oil I have ever seen !

I agree with Hunter29, Kubotas oil viscosity spec is out of date, or just flat out wrong. My Kubota manual says it is okay to use 15w-40 below 32F. What if it is -10F, so that is still okay? Not for me. 5w-40 is a superior viscosity for most applications we use these engines and tractors in. I have 2 Kubotas and 1 older Ford, and they all get 5w-40. In fact, all of our vehicles get 5w-40, it is my 'fleet' oil. I have attached an engine oil viscosity verses temperature chart from an old Caterpillar manual I copied a few years back. I have read many oil viscosity recommendation charts in my career, and this one just makes good sense, for any engine. Philip.

Factory fill is 10W30 conventional oil.
