After a new Kubota purchase, does Kubota send you a Dealer Satisfaction Card?
The only thing I recieved with my purchase, other than the unit itself (ZD21), was a bag with some manuals in it. In one of these manuals was a "Post Assembly Check List." Was this suppose to be filled out by the tech that put the thing together? Mine was not filled out, and I don't know whether I shoud be concerned about whether everything was fully checked out.

Yes, Kubota sent me a survey on the dealer.
It had all sorts of questions.
It had questions on scratched paint, nicks and dings.
Did the dealer go over the machine, fluid levels, etc.
It was around the time when some one on TBN was upset at a dealer complaining about the same things.

I got the survey several months after I purchased my machine in November 2000!

Don't worry Boner, they didn't check it out. But that's probably a good thing... The machine was as good as it gets when it left the factory. Check and adjust the fluids to correct their oversight.

Boner, at my dealership we're not allowed to eat cheeseburgers and drink a twelve pack till we turn in a predelivery inspection sheet (Kubota provides us with stacks of 'em). The salesmen don't like the mechanics opening the bag (keeps us from wiping the dipstick with the owners manual). Don't know what they do at your dealership, but if you ask one of the Bafoons in the service dept. at our dealership(when they're not too busy chipping the paint off of new machines) for a copy of the checklist, we have one on file.

Speaking of wiping the dipstick on the manual, when I got my tractors, they came with a loader manual, mower manual (the BX). They were covered with grease, would have been nice if they had had the brains to xerox themselves a copy before they trashed mine. Since they were filthy I wonder if the guy even washes his hands now and then. Since that was only one tiny part of the goofy nonsense that went on with my purchase it wasn't worth mentioning. And no I didn't get a Kubota Satisfaction Survey, why would a dealer turn in your correct address if they know they are screwed up?

Oh, we havn't been there for a while. ;^)

My BX should be back with the FEL & Ags installed today. I should have a fun story for everyone! I've already got chapter 1 (pick-up) in a draft but I thought I'd wait till it comes back to wrap it up.

When I found the virgin "check sheet" in the bag, it just made me curious. I does make sense that they have others, as to not open the bags. I have just found a few things that are not up to par. When I read the check list, these things should have been caught. Air pressure in the tires for one. All the tires had 3-5 psi. It should have been 20 & 30. (i think) The tank was BONE dry. They enine ran, but when I lifted the fuel cap, I could see the bottom of the tank! Also, mine doesn't "creep" like the manual says. This is fine with me. I didn't like the creeping anyway, but I think this shows that they didnt check it out. Like Rogue says, this is probably for the best.

Hey Kubmech, maybe you can answer a few things. My adjustable seat does not catch on the left side. (left when seated) Is this normal? When in operation, the left side is constantly sliding back and forth. My dealer says they are only suppose to catch on the right, but there are notches on the left. I assume they are there for a reason. ANd to add insult to injury, I didn't get a Kubota cap. (I did ask)
Other than that, I had a pleasant buying experience.

Thanks
-Ben

Ben,

I received dealer satisfaction cards for both our tractors, and completed checklists on delivery. One zerk on the loader was froze and should have been caught, but no charge for a new zerk and pin @ 10 hrs, plus a whoopps were sorry. A couple of the manuals were even "broken in" and ready for use. My B21 warranty runs out next month and the dealer is going to send one of the mechanics home early so he can stop by and check things over before the warranty runs out. When I drop by the dealer, if want to jabber at one of the mechanics out in the shop, no problem. I'm sure if I make a pest out of myself they would reign me in.

Soo.. I think my dealer is just fine, plus I get a Xmas card and four hats so far. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
