I had a friend in Wilkesburo, NC take me for a ride in his D900 Kubota UTV. I remarked that I love my D1100 but the power really dies off when I take hills. He proceeded to head up a med incline (pavement) and was able to do about 20MPH. My hills at the farm are gravel and alot steeper.
He said that his HAD been weak on hills but he had taken the UTV to the dealer and their lead Diesel mechanic had worked/tweaked his fuel controller (carborater thing) and had tweaked it about 5 times until it had consiberably more power. My friend did not know what the mech had done. Since I'm in the Roanoke, Va area I can't get my machine to that guy so.......DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT HE MIGHT HAVE DONE? My D1100 drops to about 8 mph on my steep hill, doesn't matter if I'm in high or low gear....I did put 14" wheels on it for terrain clearance but that shouldn't make much difference. I think I need headers and a 4BBL :LOL:.....

Diesel power....where is everybody?

Mine does the same thing. Very frustrating.

Well mine is pretty strong for what I expected, but no way it will do 20 up a hill. I'd like to know what that guy did.
I know there was a turbo kit on the market for them, but I never saw on reports on how good they worked?

I have a couple steep hills on my bush road and my RTV will drop to 7 or 8 MPH too......but it will still do that 7 or 8 with the AC on and two buckets of gravel from my B2620 in the dump bed in high range.

That is what they do. Agree w pump alteration

Like others, he probably just played with the injection pump for more fuel.
I'd just get used to it vs. altering the fuel and the potential consequences. You bought a "work truck" and if you want speed, power and a cushy ride, you made the wrong selection. Kubota does make a more traditional gas and (iirc) belt drive machine.
The hydrostatic drive coupled with a small diesel is just not the recipe for speed.

If it was a hydrostatic tranny, than that is the problem.
Yes, it is hydro but so was the other guys????? Is there some adjustment on the fuel controller? Or rejet the "carburetor"?

Short answer is yes. But it may have consequences being;
Overheating
Warranty voiding
Reduced engine life

Then there's the question, a big expense one;
How "delicately" are the hydros balanced to/with the factory hp settings?
