Three years ago when shopping for a new tractor a friend of mine let me test drive his B2400 here at home for a day. He had just purchased it used but the previous owner had kept it looking and operating like new. I was so pleased with the way his Kubota handled I bought a B7800. A bit bigger than his B2400 but he has 5 acres and I have twenty. Good decision. This week he asked me to help him set some uprights for lean to on his barn. To raise and set the uprights while I was operating his same B2400 that I so loved three years ago. He hasn't taken care of the tractor. It's nasty. The hydro pedal sticks both in forward and reverse which is downright dangerous. The power steering doesn't work. He is a very good man and a dear friend.
I'm not a clean freak. But I do take a few minutes to take care of my tractor each day when I'm done. I do service it properly. Sometimes I think I spend too much time on it. But after seeing the damage of just three years of neglect it is worth every minute. And he keeps this tractor in a garage.
