Kubota BX2360
After purchasing a bx2360 with a 48 in rotary mower it was obvious when I started using it for the first time that the rotary mower weighed enough to raise the tractor steering wheels an inch off the ground at times even when only transversing gentle bumps in the yard. So, I stopped, put the tractor and mower into the garage and called the kubota dealer Monday. They ordered four suitcase weights and mounting bracket and mounting bolts for me. The rub is they say I must remove the sexy orange brush guard to use the bracket and weights.

Wait, thought I. Nobody mentioned that when I ordered the brush guard and the rotary mower with the tractor when obviously the mower could not be used without front weights and the front weights cannot be used with the brush guard. No wonder one sees brush guards on Ebay brand new. So, can you sense my disatisfaction with owning a useless brush guard and with the buying process, after all, is the dealer not supposed to know their products and know I needed weights and did not therefore need a brush guard?

Anyone have this experience or anyone else know of a solution rather than customizing a brush guard that I feel should handle a weight bracket directly from Kubota?

Thanks for listening to my vent. :)

Modifying the brush guard is the only solution I know, 94bullitt has one on his tractor I believe.

Yes I do have a grill guard and a weight bracket. I have 5 55lb weights on the front. I got real lucky and my dealer had a weight bracket off a older L series that I modified. I had to keep the weights up high to get up and down some hills.

Great looking tractor and modification! Alas, no time to mod it for me now but I will very soon. Right now, I'm pulling the sexy brush guard off and I ordered the weights and bracket and requisite mounting bolts Tuesday afternoon . To my delight the dealer had them Thursday afternoon. Not bad, eh?

Thanks, I used a big piece of angle, I think 3"x6." I cut it so it would go in between the grille guard. The welded the weight bracket to the angle and added gussets to the top and bottom.

This is my setup on the BX. Modified the factory guard. Works great when I'm using the tiller or bush hog

You guys are awesome with your welding skills, I don't have that available to me so I had to come up with something different for much needed front ballast when I use my 600+ pound tow behind aerator - I will only use it twice per year but I for sure needed 60-100 pounds on the front. It's not perfect but I made a tray on the front supported by angle iron underneath which I bolted to the frame of my BX2360. I am going to paint it orange and maybe even buy an orange pillow case for the 80 pound bad a quickcrete! That 80 pounds of weight was way cheaper than a buck per pound. Hope this idea helps someone. I can easily unbolt it and put it away for the 363 days I don't need it.
