Buying Advice Kubota B8200

I'm looking at a Kubota B8200 HST 4x4 for $12,500 and I'm wondering if it's an ok deal. 452(6) on the hour meter and comes with front bucket, backhoe, and turf tires. The seller thinks it's manual steering. I'd use it on a 3 acre horse farm to move manure, level the fields, and try to level the back lot as it's a hill. Anything up to and including rebuilding engines doesn't worry me as I own a machine shop.

Good solid reliable tractor in design and manufacture. I'd say the price is good - especially with the low hours. Look carefully to see if the overall condition confirms the low hours. If so, you are not going to do better for that price range

My own bias is I that I think that era - from early 1990s to about 2012 - were some of the best Kubotas built...I have one from 2007. It is hard to find good low hour tractors from that era. It won't last long. The turf tires are a bonus & were and expensive addition.

I do wish it had the optional power steering, but because it was optional it can be added. You definitely want PS with a loader.

I'd get it, use it, and a year from now begin the search for a larger tractor. You won't lose any money on that one. It will get you in the game and do decent work while you learn the what features work best for you on your land.

I had a B8200, and it is a solid machine. I would think the backhoe, loader, 4wd, and hours make that a good value at $12.5k.

With a backhoe! Let me know where it is so I can buy it. You couldn't kill that tractor. it's made with real steel, before they started cheapening everything up.

Oh well, the turf tires would have turned me off anyway. Turf tires are for mowing lawns. No benefit at all for loader work or backhoe work or ground clearing. If you need traction, you don't want turf tires.

I converted my b8200 from manual to power steering. I made a big thread on it and documented everything. Great tractor.

However, 3 months ago, a friend bought a b9200 TLB with r4's for $9500. I have R4's front only on my b8200. I have a b7200 with all turf's, and I often struggle for traction.

Im a bit late here but i own a b8200 with loader and backhoe and manual steering and the steering is not bad AT ALL. Yes it loads up with a full bucket load but the 1000lb backhoe hanging off the back makes the manual steering effort WAY less than you might guess. Now, if you take off the backhoe and max out the loader you're going to have the normal shitty steering experience, but as long as the backhoe is on, the manual steering is not a problem at all.
