Hey all hope your february is going ok, got a couple of questions, today I was working on my tractor, replacing filters etc. I was trying to get my lights to work again but hadnt had any luck, I remember when I had replaced my voltage regulator before I replaced it my rear lights worked but no headlights, so today I reluctantly disconnected the old voltage regulator to come to find out that in the time that the new regulator was installed it had caused a short circuit somewhere to cause the connector to melt a little but not too much, so after about 30 mins of prying and praying I was able to separate the new regulator, so I hooked the old one up and so far right now, the tractor won't even warm the glow plugs. nor turn the starter. any suggestions?

That tractor came with a dynamo or an optional 35 amp alternator...
If you have the dynamo definitely change it to an alternator, you can get an internal regulated 40 amp alternator less than $50... You will have to do (minor) wiring changes, but you will not have to replace the regulator that sounds like is damaged...
If you have the 35 amp alternator, and it most likely is damaged, replace it with an internal regulated alternator... Most auto parts store's can check your alternator to see if it is damaged.

Well Kubota of Murfreesboro, TN called me today, its gonna cost me around 1600$ roughly to get it fixed right. The brakes where a major PITA are gonna need new shoes and a new brake rod, as for charging system, its gonna need some minor repair to the wiring harness, and a new voltage regulator, the guy said it had a dynamo on it and it was charging at 24VAC but i think he meant DC. and he said that it should be charging at 20, so its good either way you look at it. getting a new hourometer/tach cable installed as well.

so between, getting all the electrical right, and brakes, where talking about 1500$

Wow... I would not go back with a dynamo... I would switch over to an internal regulated alternator...

True, Expensive, but I like my stuff factory if not close to being factory even down to the little lights and what not haha, kinda stupid. I like to Micromanage how my stuff works down to where wires are ran and how they are and stuff. they said everything was fine, GP's, starter, engine had great compression. yadda yadda yadda. so electrical and breaks, they said they over quoted me so if it came down to it, if it wasn't as much labor intensive as they'd thought it won't be as bad, from the looks of it, he's got most of the wiring done right so far just under the diagnostics charge. real nice people up there, too bad I've been applying with Kubota for over 3 years and can't get a job there. only disappointment I have about them.
