I am looking at these two models and found that the TC26 actually appears to be a little nicer however it is a left over 06 model, turf tires, FEL and 60 in. rear discharge mowing deck for $17995, seems high.

The B7610, R4 tires with fluid, 54 in. deck or can upgrade at extra cash to 60 inch and FEL. Price $15050.

Seems like a no brainer that the Kubota is a better deal even if it is slightly smaller.

Looking for input.

Both of them are good machines. What are you planning to do with the tractor, what attachments are you planning on getting, what is the terrain like at your place, and who is going to use it?

Do both machines sit the same or is one a lot more comfortable then the other?

For instance, I didn't want turf tires because of the sharp rocks in my neck of the woods, I did want a hydrostatic transmission because my left knee is pretty much shot and my wife also drives. We liked the JD for a group of reasons but one of them was that the new tractor we bought had the same general control setup (for fwd and reverse) as the lawn tractor we had. I considered that a safety issue.

Let us know there is a whole herd of knowledgeable people on this board that will help you out.

Good luck!!!

The TC26 is a more feature rich machine. I think it compares more accurately to a Kubota B2630. If you want to spend less buy the B7610. I compared the different brands and bought a Kubota B7800. I am very happy with my decision although at times I wish I had bought a larger frame L series tractor

I looked at both of these as well and ended up with a B2630. The price was as good or better and the 3-speed transmission is a must for me. The hydraulics are also a lot better on the B2630/3030 and it has a much larger fuel tank. I know on the NH site they compare to the B7610 but in my experience the 7610 can be bought for much less then the TC26 (as I see you have found as well).

I concur with what's been said. I ended up with the TC24 because of position control, roominess, and it seemed a heavier stronger machine for what I planned on using it for (Mostly Backhoe and loader work). The Kubota is a capable machine though especially if you are going to do a lot of mowing. I think the Kubota allows you to have a Mid Mount mower plus you can still use a backhoe, the NH is an either or proposition.

The first couple years we will get a fair amount of use out of the loader but it will be at our leasure for lanscape work around the house and some snow removal. We also mow about 2.5 acres. We also have plans to purchase a little more land but that may be as far off as 6 years. I just was planning ahead so I would'nt have to trade again but then that may not be so bad either! I met with a second Kubota dealer in our area tonight and he offered a B7610, Tires of my choice with fluid, 352 FEL and Kubotas more expensive 54 inch mowing deck, plus the new style seat when he gets them in stock. This dealers price is $14800. -$3500. for my trade.

The NH TC26 package is at $17995 for a 06 model then -$4000. for my trade it is hard to justify $2600. more for the TC26 and I think the Kubota B7800, package would run about $16800.

My other hard choice is Turf tire or R4s. We have mostly clay soil, former farm fields, almost no rocks, gravel driveway leading to a blacktop town road.

I grew up around and on tractors but it has been a few years since I have spent much time on them so it is almost like getting a new toy.

Thanks for the responses, it is great to get input from others.

I also looked at both machines. I bought the B7610 & do not regret it. I have the woods BH70X back hoe and have found so far found that the B7610 has plenty of power to run it. I used the extra cash to buy several attachments. I picked up a Farmi winch and grapple bucket along with the Payne clamp on forks & snow plow. I plan on clearing 3 plus acres this fall and really liked the fact that I can widen the tractors stance on the B7610.

As much as I would like the 30 hp engine, I really didn't want a tractor that size, and for me, I have several landscape projects very close to the house that I have to get between the pool and porch.

As others mentioned, the NH is a very nice machine, but I felt for the things I need to do the bota was a better fit.

I think you would be good with turf tires but if you are expecting to add chains in the winter check to see how much space there will be between the tire and fender. Some models, like my B7800, have problems with turfs and chains. I have R4's with chains but I do hate having to put those chains on- aweful job.

One nice thing about the B7610 is that there is plenty of room for chains with any tire choice, and lots of adjustment in rear wheel width if you want more.

I think the Kubota is winning out in my mind even though the TC26 looks to be a slightly bigger tractor, it is technicaly used since it is an 06 with 32 hours on it and it is still $2400. higher than the B7610.

The second dealer near us quoted me $14800. for the B7610, 352 FEL, 54 inch MMM(the more expensive of the two 54 inch decks offered) and fluid in which ever tires I pick. Other dealer did not want to go less than $15050 for the package but they even had the less expensive deck. Both are going to give $3500. for my trade.

The turf or R4 tires will be another hard choice. We have clay soil here so when it is dry it is like cement but when wet it is real slippery. Some of our work is in the creek bottoms which can be a little on the wet side but I stay away if it is muddy. Is anyone actually digging up their yard with the R4s and mowing?

Since the Kubota is a little lighter than the TC26 I thought it may be less likely to do damage with the R4s.
