Please give me some guidance for purchasing a CUT. My options are Kubota B7510HSD vs. Kioti CK20HST. I have only test drove the Kioti and it seemed to fit my needs and the looks are pretty impressive. Although the Kioti seemed to lag up a small incline in high gear with pedal fully pressed. This may be my ignorance in the hydro operation since I was treating it like a car.

I plan to use a 54" MMM most of the time and loader with box blade part of the time. My first big job with the tractor will be 350 fence post holes. I have 5 acres with horse stalls. To make the tractor pay for itself, I plan to have my boys do neighborhood chores with it and learn responsibility.

Which CUT will not lack horsepower? The displacement of the Kobota is a little more. Which will provide a better resale value if I move to a suburban neighborhood? Leaving pricing out of the equation, what is my best choice? I am nervous with the Kioti due to brand recognition. I also heard the Kubota filters are available at NAPA auto parts stores which can save me money on self maintenance items.

HELP!

Both are essentially the same HP.

There is no firm answer to this. Most would argue the Kubota will provide a higher resale. However it was me, I would not consider this a real benefit.

That is probably true about most of the popular tractors from many brands.

The heavier tractor, in this case that is the Kioti, will be slightly better with the box blade. The front loader on the Kioti is stronger, but if you are scooping up manure mixed with hay then neither loader will come close to its capacity limits so it might just be a moot point. The mowing chores are hotly debated, but I favor lighter tractors for mowing because I don't like rutting my yard when the ground is wet which would give that advantage to the Kubota.

Pretty much any tractor will do this without sweating.

While there are some reported cases of weak Kioti CK20HSTs the problem could be your technique. Torque decreases as you depress the pedal. So actually backing off the pedal should help. Speed increases when you depress a hydro pedal but that decreases the torque while conversly, torque increase and speed decreases when you ease off the pedal. It takes some getting used to. Then again, that could be one of those CK20HSTs that has a problem. Then again, it could be any tractor might lag up that same incline.

The best choice is the one you like better. Kubota is the market leader, the 7510 is a fine small light tractor. It has a very large number of satisfied users. The Kioti CK20 is a fine small heavy tractor. It has plenty of satisfied users as well. In some areas the Kioti is cheaper. In some areas the Kubota is cheaper. The Kioti gives you things that may or may not mean anything to you (like a 50 amp alternator and more capacity on the hydraulics). The real difference may be best found in the seat of your pants and in the back of your mind when dealing with the dealerships. Do both dealers have well stocked parts departments and experienced mechanics? Do both want to earn your money?
