I think I need to replace the rear bearings and seals on the rear axles of my B7500. Is this a difficult job or do I need to take this to the dealer to have done? I know if I go to the dealer I am sure this will be an expensive repair
Would I need special tools or will my normal sockets and hand tools work? Do the bearings need to be pressed off and on? Any help would be appreciated my tractor is about 14 years old

It is time to order the workshop manual for it.

You might get a better answer if you said what type of B7500

Why do you think you need to replace them???

How many hours???

Has maintenance been performed??

Mine has 1000 hours on it and no signs of trouble at this point.

This is a pretty simple job. I did it without a manual. Straight forward, just drain, remove rear tires and remove axle housings. It's been about 4 yrs ago.

You will need a bearing puller (cheap harbor freight worked fine, snap ring plyers and sockets..

Jack your wheel up and see if axle wiggles... If no movement, doubt your bearings need replacement. They're pretty decent size ball bearings. My cage was broke so axle wiggled causing leaky seal.

B7500 HST about 1400 hours - when I was grading my road I went around a corner and I heard a big clang and the motor stopped but started back up again but the rear tires seemed locked so I jacked it up and then they were free wheeling. When I drive down the gravel road the ride seems different like the wheels are not rolling smooth. I have had issues with the rear hubs and shearing the pin in the back many times.

Do the axle housing just pull off without any type of puller? Are the bearings pressed on to the axle shaft? how are the axles held in place? Do the oil seals come out of the axle housing without a press?

I will jack up and see if the axle wiggles? One shaft seal is leaking on the right axle do the seals pull out easily? is the bearing puller used after the axle is removed? Do the axle housing just come off after the bolts are removed?

Yes to all above.. It's been a while for me but it was obvious how it all comes out once u pull em off. Cheap harbor freight bearing puller worked fine.. Socket to hammer back.. Post pics if u have any questions.. RTV to put housings back on..

Be sure to oil up new seal and axle as you slide axle shaft through it.. I remember it seemed odd as the octagon axle slide through it but no problem.
