donh,

Now that you have your first post taken care of registration can't be far behind./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I'm not exactly sure what your asking, but never stopped me from posting before. Normally the lifting rods (fixed left and adjustable right) are between the lift arms and the lower links. To limit the travel of the lower link(arms), you want the chains from the lower links to some strong point on the tractor structure.

There is an adjustment to the right and just lower than the seat on a 7500. It is just a rod with two nuts tightned against eachother on one end and then a little slider with a set screw in the middle of the rod. The lifting arm of the 3pt has a connecting rod that slided back and forth between the set screw and the double nut. When the slider hits the double nuts it moves the up/down lever to the middle lock position, this is the upper limit. When it hits the slider with the set screw it again moves the up/down lever to the middle position. This sets the lower limit. You shouldn't need to move the two locking nuts for the upper limit, but just adjust the slider with the set screw for your lower limit. After it is set the way you want it, just push the down lever all the way down and let go. When it gets to where you set it the lever will pop back up and you can roll on.

It should be noted that this is as viewed from the back of the tractor.

I tried setting this up as a "Poor man's position control" and had mixed results. I have the adjustment set on the 3ph to lower the 3ph relatively slowly. Set like this, I found that the "stop" position was not reliably stopping in the same place every time. Once I adjusted it to lower at a relatively higher speed, it did a bit better on finding the same spot every time, but still varied about an inch each time.
