I was using a Bush Hog yesterday and suddenly my 3-pt lift stopped working. I tried adjusting it with the adjustment nuts and it made no difference. When I try and raise and lower there is no noise and I can lift the the point hitch by hand with no resistance. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Thanks, Rob

My epinion. OPEN CIRCUIT. With an open oil circuit we have NO PRESSURE on 3 pts cylinder. Do you have a FEL ? . Check all valves and controls on oil hydrolique system. Good Luck ! Oldmech

Being able to lift the 3PH by hand is normal. That is not an indicator that there is a problem.

What does it do wrong or not do, exactly? Not making noise is too vague to diagnose.

That is usually caused by one of two different things. One being the valve under the seat. It has a knob that slows the drop of the lift down and can be used to shut it off. Sometimes the knob will be rubbed, shutting it off.
The other most common thing that will cause the problem is a quick connector coming disconnected on a hydraulic hose. They may even look connected and not be. If the knob isn't the problem, then check the quick connectors.

Hi, Thanks for the information and problem is there no lift at all. I can hear a grinding noise when I lift the three point hitch up by my hands. When I take out the metal tube for the hydraulics it leaks a little but has no great pressure. This is when the engine is running. Yes also it does have a front end loader and it works ok.

Thanks, Rob.

Your hydraulics sound like they are working alright and it sounds like you have checked everything but...

That grinding noise is not good...You may have busted the piston or rod that operates the 3pt up or lets it down.

There should not be any kind of grinding noise.

Have you happed to have driven over alot of very rough terrain with the BH in the up position?

Yes I have really worked the heck out of three point lift. This happened when it was real hot outside and I had the BH up and it just stopped working. Thanks again for the information. My local dealer will not give me any answers over the phone and course they want me to bring in to have it checked out. What is the cost per hour for labor at a Kubota dealer?

Thanks, Rob
