Hi, I've been reading other posts. The clutch release got lower and lower on the pedal. Today I adjusted it and within a half hour the clutch will no longer disengage. I'm guessing from what I have read so far that its likely one of the pressure plate fingers has failed. Anyone got any other ideas? Could be the throw out bearing but there is no noise from the bellhousing and all was working fine up til now.

Well I"m going to have to split it now. Hoping its not a huge job.

Had a kubota that the clutch wouldn't release when clutch pedal was depressed. had to seperate the engine and the throw out bearing had become disconnected from the pedal.
only held on by spring clips. the shaft tube that keep the bearing in alignment had become
loaded with muck of oil mud and what ever could stick to the shaft. figured that since seldom used the clutch this build up happened. it was a gst type gear shift.
Doesn't take long to seperate after removing all the little things that covers the area.Used a over head hoist to hold the front and engine. blocked up the rear to keep from moving.
Only took cleaning and reatachment of throw out bearing. Trust this is all you will find.

Could be a number of things, but they all require splitting tractor. Depending on how fast problem worsened, first guess is siezed release bearing wearing down clutch fingers...but that's just a guess. Everything will become crystal clear once you're in there. If it were me, I'd plan on a complete overhaul, plate/disc/bearings...don't forget pilot bearing...

I haven't been inside a Kubota, but from the way you explain that it failed slowly, it might be that the keyway or pin depending on how the throwout fingers are fastened to the shaft failed. I ran into this on a Yanmar.

If the shaft is compromised, replace it. a new key or pin will not last long.

If you have to replace the pilot bearing, a trick I learned it to fill the hole with grease on the end of the crank, put a dowel in the hole and give it a good hit. The hyd pressure of the grease will pop the bearing right out.
