My kubota b6000 seemed to gel up last saturday. It ran for about 2 minutes then it shut right off. I put it in a warm garage overnight and tried to start it. Nothing just turned over. So I pulled the fuel filter off to see if it was plugged. It isnt. So I bled the system. Nothing. I can force fuel up into the injector pump with an air compressor and air nozel. And it will start right up. If anyone has any ideas. it is a 2 cyl diesel. If anyone knows where I can buy an injector pump rebuild kit or you know someone that has an injector pump they want to sell resonably priced.

Maybe clean out the fuel system before getting excited about the pump.:D

Hi there,

Not sure where you are or how cold your B6000 got. But I can tell you a B6000 does not like the cold.
After following Egon's advise, I would first try making sure you have fuel to the injector pump. Disconnect the rubber fuel line going to the injector pump and let the electric fuel pump run until the fuel runs "clear" with no air bubbles. It is long enough to stick it back into the fuel tank while you do this so you should not lose any fuel!

Reconnect the fuel line and try to start it. Make sure you glow the plugs of at least 20 seconds. If that fails and it is still cold. Try using the compression release. If all else fails, use a "whiff" of ether. If you do, make sure the glow plugs are cold. I really do not think your IP has gone bad.

I have spent a few years with a B6000 in the cold. Although they do not like it, they will start and run in weather well below 0F.

Hope this is of some help.

Well I can't find any fuel pump. Can someone guide me to where it might be? I dont have a service manual for it. Didn't come with it when I bought it.

If you were sitting on the tractor, it would be right near (just forward) your left knee. It is about 2" X 2" X 2". One wire runs up to the dash where there is an in-line fuse. That fuse holder has been known to be problematic.

I think it has been eliminated. Because that little fuel filter on the left side when you are sitting on it is cut. And I dont see a fuel pump.

Alright this is going to sound really stupid of me. This tank is all gravity fed. The recent owner removed the fuel pump and did away with. SO it is now gravity fed. And the way the fuel line is ran it wasn't recieving any fuel. So this is very emabrrasing. It had a 1/4 tank of fuel in it. I went out and got some more diesel/kerosene. Put it in. Had to turn it over a awhile. Bled it a little bit. Started up. Took it for a spin. Was comming back decided to mess around with a snow bank and it started to stall out. It still has some air in the system to I am going to bleed it tomarrow, THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

Keep it full of fuel and change the filter often. You now only have the one filter. Originally, there were two, but the first one (which could be cleaned) is too low for a gravity flow system.

Use 4WD and hang some weight on the 3-point when using the loader. The bucket has more volume than current models, and can easily lift the rear. It took a 300lb Woods rear mower before I got comfortable with mine. Also, adjust the rear wheels out as far as possible. The B6000 with loaded FEL is real easy to roll, even with the loader arms no higher than the hood (ask me how I know)...

Try to get an Owner's Manual, they come in handy.

One good thing came out of it tho. Now my glow plugs work I fixed them so I don't need a whif of eather to get it started. I still have the inline filter. I am going to get a fuel pump and get a new inline filter(just to have new) and I am going to hook it all back up. Not gonna deal with 1/2-1/4 of a tank of fuel it is going to stall out. And plus I want to be on the same page as everyone else incase something ever does go wrong with it. Fuel pumps aren't that much. I saw one for $36 but I can't find it again so. The inline filter I can get for $5.
